I hope this thread spurs feedback for everyone's benefit. Scenario: I have 3 (soon 4) sites all in a very related niche (actually business to business) and want to link them for both practical reasons as well as hopefully good SEO. (Some would have 2-way and some 1-way links.) I have read that for optimal (Google) SEO I should use Wordpress but also to have the different sites completely isolated with little to no overlap so that Google does not penalize the links/sites as being associated with each other in any way. 1. Should I get separate hosting accounts for each site (I think yes)? 2. Do all sites need to have completely unique content? 3. Should I run separate Google Awords accounts for each site? 4. If I am managing all of this from a single computer/IP Address can Google identify that and associate all of the sites - thereby blowing all previously mentioned measures???? I think that done properly, this strategy of building your own related sites with each having it's own merit and traffic (and eventually Page Rank), and then linking them can have many benefits. I just want to anticipate any problems here at the start and do it right! Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions! Bruce |

1. Should I get separate hosting accounts for each site (I think yes)? Yes You'll want to have seperate c-class ip addresses for ip diversity. You can either do this with multiple hosting accounts, or purchase multiple ip addresses from your host (a couple bucks more per month) 2. Do all sites need to have completely unique content? Shoot for 30% unique minimum. 3. Should I run separate Google Awords accounts for each site? Not necessary. 4. If I am managing all of this from a single computer/IP Address can Google identify that and associate all of the sites - thereby blowing all previously mentioned measures???? No - they cant see where your uploading from. |

I agree with Daniel in almost everything but I would keep separates adwords accounts. |

I feel that if you don't go overboard with the linking you should be fine. Try to avoid sitewide links, if you want to be paranoid about it. If you keep the quality of each site high, Google won't have any reason to penalize you. |

Go for it and don't go for a spam and you'll get penalized in no time. Even though if you go for separate ad words account and different ip you will be found if the domain name is registered in the same name. There are many factors that rule the google alg, So, advices not to risk with your sites Regards, |
