Is pagerank important to you?

When you are marketing a product through your website, how important is the pagerank to you? Do you think a higher pagerank improves the chances of making a sale?

I think the more traffic I get the better my chances of making a sale. So page rank is important to me because the better my page rank the better my site will place in the search results and the more free traffic I will get, thats searching for just what I have to offer.

Page Rank is not that important to me. Only reason I would like a high one is for my ego :-)

In some ways it can bring you sales.but PR is only the number of backlinks of a certain webpage. it does not relate to traffic or to your sales

page rank does not determine where you rank. What does is the type of various links from all sources out there that are relevant.

Interesting that people have differing views on this. Personally, I think it does have value to many, but I certainly have sites with good traffic and rankings that don't have high pagerank. If I had a choice, I would definitely take a high pagerank any day.

SERP ranking, and traffic volume have no direct relationship to Page Rank,

The Value of Page Rank is perceived value .. any real value to the end user is at best debtable. The value to Google is huge as everyone who has their toolbar installed is passing on every bit of data they want on your surfing habits.

PR toolbar has very little importance. Actual PR is important.

Isn't Page Rank the rank that your page appears on for particular keywords in Google? (or another search engine)

For Example - PR 1 = first result on Google?? Maybe I am wrong.

If I am right - Page Rank is critical. You want Page Rank 1 for a highly searched term. If you do - the amount of traffic you get from this will make a massive difference.

You cannot beat organic traffic. It's free.

The last thing you want is Page Rank 1 for a term noone ever searches on.

if you are focus to SEO, then pagerank really helps. it really important specially if the traffic source is from search engine...

I agree with those that mention the high the high perceived value of pagerank.
If the person visiting your website is familiar with pagerank and believes that a higher pagerank is better then your site may be seen as more of an authority site in the eyes of that type of visitor. In those cases I would say that it may increase your chances of making a sale.

There are 2 main instances when my pagerank is very important:

1) When I am selling links or advertising space

2) When I am selling the website in question

In my view i give importance page rank and also to the site.The promotion techniques we are using are also very important

Really, not.

It depends. I can make a few dozens sites quickly, and then start PPC or banner traffic to those sites, i really dont care about the PR for marketing and selling any 3rd party product. (Say, Clickbank etc...)

Its different tho...for "bigger" sites, for "my own" sites, for main sites i DO try to get PR and links. But it is overrated.

There are more effective ways to market and get the word out instead of solely focusing on PR.

Page rank is not that important to me but it is a sign that I am doing the right things in the eyes of Google.
