HI guys, Just wanted to give a little hope to people trying to get their site to google page 1 some inspiration especially those new to backlink building. I started out in backlink building for my site at the start of January. I didnt know what backlink building was even or how to place a link in a comment!!! Now my site is on google page one for 3 very competitive key terms, terms which cost about £4.00 on PPC adwords. It has been there for about 1 week and its not dancing. I just want to give a list of the things i used to do this: 1. Profile backlinks boost of about 4000 seperated into 2 lots 1 week apart - seen instant results 2. Manualy submission of profile backlinks to high PR sites and .edu and .gov 3. 200 social bookmarks of my site 4. 2 linkwheels 5. High PR 8-3 blog comments - around 100 6. Press release service which got the PR into google news 7. Paid text link on a unrelated site on a sitewide basis - prob provided me with about 700 extra backlinks with some PR1-5 8. Placed alot of links on .gov sites 9. Article submission to around 1000 sites 10. 150 Blogrolls with 2 backlinks in each 11. I had signed up to a couple of offers which did steady backlink building but I havent seen any backlinks. 12. I pinged and social bookmarked all the high PR backlinks but only started this in the last month or so and I seen a huge improvement Checked my backlinks and I have around 4000. Because I did all these methods at once I cant pinpoint one which was more effective than the other. **I have only 2 links which is on 1 site related to my niche!!** I have spent approximately £600 on this from various offers on WF - not bad to get to google page 1! oh and I did do about 7 hours a day building alot of the high PR backlinks for the last two months every day!!!!!! Im so bored of backlink building!! Good luck to all - now I just need to get from Position 7 to 1!!! |

Did you do much deep link building or just concentrate on your home page? Were all the links you described all directly linked right to your site? Thanks for the inspiration! |

Hey I created about 20 links to one other inner page. I only did this because the site is only a free 5 page site and so when I switch the site to my software platform I didnt want the deep links to be lost. It is more natural to have deep links so I shall start building those once the actual software is up and I have a better idea of the deeplink urls. the most competitive term when searched in google: xxxxxx xxxxxxxxx - 55,800,000 results "xxxxxx xxxxxxxxx" - 48,100 results Im no. 7 |

Thanks for the info! I started a new domain about the same time as you did and I've managed to get it up pretty high for some pretty competitive terms but after reading this I'm going to start a much more aggresive link building campaign to get it up to the top of page one as quick as I can.

Buy a domain that has been around for about 3 - 4 years old and you will be better off in the long haul and have an advantage over the others when competing for other words later. Every bit counts. You can buy one for around 100 -300 bucks. Depending, try ebay or flippa.com. |

cheers for the advice robmena but I had toyed with the idea - there was a site which would have done but the company just disappeared and thought it best to start from scratch due to stigma of bankrupt company owning last domain. Its a very specific niche so I had very limited options.

Thanks weber.......not dancing, huh? I did something very similar, and my site got sandboxed for a few weeks, then came back strong. I'm wondering how quickly you did all this. I know the big G hates "too much, too soon!" Thanks for the info. |

5,600 links in 2.5 months? That's 75 links a day, every day without break. If you work 8 hour days 7 days a week that's a link every 6 minutes non-stop! So that's what you mean by hard work, eh?! |

I dont think its always need to do all these hard work. I have around 20 sites, not rank well yet. I made one site a couple of day ago, add some content, and left it like that, today its on page 2 of google (#23). No link building or anything else, only ping it with ping-o-matic. I try the google sniper system for this site. So now will try to build a wheel link, every day a other. Just testing out how this will work, without all the hard work of backlinks building to SO sites. |

| Of course, that depends greatly on the keyphrase and nature of your site. If your website is selling car insurance then you're going to have to work your socks so far off they're in orbit. On the other hand if you're selling left handed cheesegraters then you're in with a better chance of keeping your toes warm. |

| That means you have put in more links than 5600 since not all links stick and backlink checker doesn't reveal every link you have that's indexed.
