In friendster there is an option to create a blog, so after creating a blog we can post some good stuff related to your site and get the link backs to your site from that content.

Let me know if I am understanding this idea. Let's say I'm focusing on the keyword "Rat Soup Recipes". I have a website ... ratsouprecipes.com ... with a few articles, adsense, etc.

I then pick out about 5 web 2.0 sites to create content related to Rat Soup Recipes. Let's say, Squidoo, Hubpages, Wetpaint, Gather and MSN Spaces.

Within the content, I create a link from my Squidoo site to my Hubpages site, from Hubpages to WetPaint, from Wetpaint to Gather, Gather to MSN and MSN to Squidoo. I also create a link from each of these sites to ratsouprecipes.com.

Is this the basic idea?

It may be that after they had an influx of spammers go over and only create pages for linking purposes they got tired of it and decided to make them nofollow.

Or in some cases they want their users to actually provide a good experience for their visitors so they make sure you have to reach a certain threshold before your nofollow links become dofollow.

Or they were always nofollowed and the OP didn't realize it when he posted.

There's probably a slew of other OR's I could add in there, but you get the idea.

Few of these sites are no follow, but hey, that only works for Google, other search engines index no follow links. Anyway, I have a list of 30+ do follow websites that I use frequently. Using 30 websites to post content manually is too much time consuming, so trust me when I say you don't need more than this, and you don't want to use software either. 30 blogs plus rss and social bookmarks will do the rick.

Speaking of social bookmarks, does anyone know a good auto submitter besides bookmarking demon and social submitter or social poster. The first two are expensive, the last one doesn't seem to work at all!

Yeah, but Wetpaint is listed up there as dofollow so I thought I'd point that out as incorrect. I figure that people looking to raise their rank in other search engines wouldn't be caring about whether a site was tagged with nofollow anyway. Or PR for that matter.

The problem with this approach is that if you build a blog/site under these sites, they would be having a PR0 and not having the same PR of the mother sites.

Facebook and twitter are no follow so Google will never pick up on them, but Yahoo and other search engines will.

As far as Mr Wong, I'm not sure, it is a do follow bookmarking site, so you should try using the rss if it has one or even connect it to another social bookmarking site in order to get a link to it.

This is like connecting the dots, in order to get you site indexed and ranked well you need backlinks, but you also need to index your backlinks so you provide a backlink for your backlink, it never seems to end. That is why I suggest using social media and bookmarking sites that provide RSS, that way you won't have to build mass amount of links to get what you need. And the indexing process will be much faster.

The high pr is the domain.. not the url. Your blog will be a PR0. Worthless really unless you do it on mass and/or linkwheel.

Why do you suggest to do it manually? I think it would be a better idea to automate or outsource it in order to save time. Using services like ping.fm, pixelpipe or posterous can be a huge time saver.
