Im a mere novice in the game of search engines and marketing, but Im wondering about something when it comes to domains. Which of these two would you find superior:
In other words, it's a question of choosing between two "good" phrases that are both relevant. To expound, at what point do you definitely go with one over the other? |

So why not get BOTH? Anyway, having your keyword in your URL is very important. So if your keyword in your URL, you're covered. ![]() -Shaun |

I suppose it would depends on the project you are doing but in general I have usually went for highly targeted phrase even if it has less searches. But that is just me.

One is HIGHLY targeted with less traffic. The other is QUITE targeted with more searches per month, say double or triple. As far as buying both domains... does that work well for a single site? I wouldn't want 2 url's with exact duplicate content...

You could always just get both domains and use one for the main site and put some type of affiliate site or related blog on the other domain that links to the main site. I have done this for some of my sites.

If you absolutely must choose one then I would go with the one that is not quite as targeted but gets a lot more searches per month.

Your domain is secondary to whatever else you do for SEO. How did you find warriorforum.com? Were you looking for warriors? While you are worrying about domains, your competition is actually doing some SEO. Go for whichever one is short, sweet, and sounds cool. You should do a real search on google with your key terms/phrase. Then see what your competition is doing. Paul

My advice would be to go for whichever domain name is more memorable, less easily misspelled and more concise. However, I would also highlight the importance of using sub-domains too. For example, if your main domain name is keyword-phrase.com then you could go on to create sub-domains such as niche-market-within.keyword-phrase.com Using sub-domains in conjunction with well-chosen domain names, and of course descriptive page titles is highly effective. |

I agree, I have seen thousands of top 10 sites in the last several months, MOST do not have the kws in the domain or the url they do however, have one thing in common they have tons of high PR backlinks with the kws in the anchor text |
