Default http:// vs www...which has more rank in backlinks?

Someone had pointed something out to me in one of my previous post...my link to my site is a blogspot site so the url is just http://mysite

Does Google give more sway to sites that only use www.mysite? or does it really matter all that much? Reason I ask is because I can use either one for my site and I still can access it.....so I've been backlinking with the http:// in my anchor text links.

Thanks

To piggy back on this, if you optimize the naked domain does that have any impact on the ww version, or would you have to optimize them separately?

The only thing I have ever read on the matter is to be consistent.
