Today i hit #1 in Google TWICE with (almost) no work - within hours! Read how i did it!

I did an experiment and really didn't think anything of it.

I am also certain that MOST people know about this method already, its FAR from a secret and has been discussed here a few times already. The difference is in the fact when you actually DO it and REALLY see your entry on #1 in Google...as opposed to reading about it and then go on with other stuff ...

So, i hit page #1 position #3 in Google today for "Traffic Ultimatum".
( And on Google News i was actually #1 all the way on top )

I was checking this today in the morning and i was SHOCKED, to say it mildly. I first couldn't believe it, so i checked my Google position via several proxies also to make sure that Google was not playing tricks with me because of personal settings and similar.

I was hyped and couldn't believe i hit this without any site, it took me maybe 5 mins work, no more.

Then i had an idea:

If it works for "Traffic Ultimatum" where everyone and their mom is promoting right now it might certainly also work for whatever other keyword if done cleverly.

So i went to clickbank and looked for a product which doesnt look too salesy... i did the same thing....and 2 hours later i am on page #1 again for another keyword/product. HOLY COW!

Each time it took me 5-10 mins "work", no SEO needed nothing.

What did i do?

Simple:

--> I wrote a press release and submitted it to a press release site.

For "traffic ultimatum" i was on top for the longest part of the day today, but it seems that others caught up because i see that more people released press releases for this - and the newer ones seem to replace the older ones. Maybe not the best keyword at the moment because so many are promoting this right now.

But the beauty of this...it works basically for anything if done right.

You just need to be good at writing and make it look like an actual event (PR worthy, so to speak)...and the product/page should not be your typical "make money online" product otherwise it might be they wont accept it.

I am sure you read a few times already that press releases are great....but seeing it in action is a total different story

I only submitted to ONE SINGLE site - and i am hesitant to give away the URL. But i think this PR site is not any different than other PR sites.

I wrote it manually. First one 400 words, second one 250 words, simple blah blah about a clickbank product.

Yeah press releases DO work....i use a program called Pressbot from incansoft.....I think I pretty much have all their software for SEO...

Maybe not. Could be an example of QDF (Quality deserves freshness). I had a similar thing happen with a brand new test site. 30 hand picked profile backlinks. Shot to the first page for a very competitive SEO term. then settled out on the second page. I was a little relieved. Like I said it was a test site and it wasn't even ready for real visitors.

The thing that comes to mind for me is - if your chasing the long and longer tail terms with low competition your PR release may stick for a while. But on more competitive stuff ... I just dont see any PR's ranking ? Maybe I need to look closer at the serps as I test and play, and I'll see more PR content - but I havent noticed it much.

How long will it last ?

well i only did those two tests today, and i considered "traffic ultimatum" pretty competitive..and the second one was a CB product name where i also know it has many sites for it and good search volume.

I didn't even bother with keyword research and filtering for competing sites (eg using market samurai) and i also didnt try long tails....i can see that being even more effective, no question. I simply used those two knowing when they hit #1 i can use almost any keyword

So would the model be to re write a press release every 5 days or so ... as that release falls off or drops in the serps or try and Backlink the PR page or?

My poorly worded reply was meant to state that I believe they can rank temporarily, but how long will it stay on page one - if all you do is release it thru the PR submission sites?

But ... not to diminish the accomplishment by any means - thats pretty damn cool.

That would certainly be doable. Of course it would be against their TOS..but make several accounts (from several IPs) and submit them in, say, 5 hour intervals.

This would need more testing...eg. if no other people have a press release for a certain keyword and its not that hyped..it might be the case that it stays quite longer. I need to monitor this.

The other question is in how far bookmarking and linking can stabilize position.

Since those are "news"...it makes somewhat sense that press releases wouldn't hold their positions for months and months. Simply dont know, need more testing

a product launch or something where the keyword will get
a spike in traffic on launch day it's worth doing.

Also the keyword Traffic Ultimatum isn't really that competitive
from just giving it a quick scan. It mostly looks like people following
what they learned in Google Sniper so I'd say the competition is
very weak.

I'd like to know what results you get with some more competitive
keywords though.

Unless you follow the ones that high profile blogs use and you are in the right niche. If the new press gets a hold of the PR and it really is news worthy or unique you can get a pick up thats permanent.

Traffic Ultimatum is probably not the best analogy to use.
Their buyers are growing sower and you will see that the threads that
are discussing the product are being closed on this forum...

I have seen many dissatisfied customers who are demanding refunds
because they and many more, feel that they were mislead with all the hype and
claims that the makers of the package were claiming...

I also have found that the Traffic Ultimatum package is nothing but rehashed
techniques that have been being used for several years now..

$200.00 is pretty steep for rehashed products that are neatly packaged...

Don't bank on getting a refund if you ask for one...

George seems to be hiding... and not responding to his refund requests.
(selling rehashed products is one thing... Not honoring refund policy's is altogether different).

At least with the PR's, they will create backlinks for you over time as sites pick them up and put them on their own sites (assuming you put a link at the bottom to your site).

I just submitted a PR to 15 sites last week with dismal results. My time was better spent building traditional links.

Couldn't agree more George, press releases are not the trendiest of promotional methods any more but they do still work. Creating a press release is not the easiest thing for most people but is something that should be outsourced perhaps.
