How does Google determine "who wins" for 2 eza articles with the same keywords in the title? The first article is a year and a half old and poorly written. My article is brand new but longer with better content. Can I beat the older article in keyword search? |

Yes, of course you can beat the Older article, if your article is better optimized and if you can get some good backlinks to it.

Basically, Google consider which article comes first, the older the better, if everything else is the same! The "everything" means: 1. Off page optimization 2. On page optimization You can easily out rank the original article with better on page optimization plus a lot of backlinks. |

So actually create backlinks to the EZA article? Never heard of that. I thought you created backlinks to your article site, not your EZA article.

Beating your competitor is not a child's play, i think only submitting to eza article will not do the trick, You need to submit to other more articles website along with that you need to create back link on regular basis

I'm not sure it's that easy. There are some key phrases that are used in thousands of articles on EZA and the one still at the top is the older article. It's not easy to determine which article should remain the most relevant and why, but those articles are DIFFICULT to beat for a reason. Age is probably a huge factor, but they you have to realize that when programmers at Google decided to create their system, they needed to input some kind of mechanism to override that rationale in case there is a new page out there that is more relevant. For example, if you had a page about computer technology ranking number 1 in 1990 and it stayed there through the years it would become useless to visitors since the info would become outdated. So, age must be important, but there has to be more. Since it's EZA we're talking about, I think we can rule out that the old article has links pointed to it. I've looked up some of the higher searched articles and I don't think they have links pointing to them. Some might, not 100% on this one. An interesting factor is that it is first come first serve when it comes to titles. Your title may contain the same key phrase, but it might not be in the right order or it might contain an extra word that is killing its relevancy. I suppose that's it for now... |

As others have said, Age is a big factor, BUT.. More times than not, the highest ranked articles have more backlinks(many more) than those which just have the same keyword in title and content. Cheers |

Optimize your articles in the title and the body of the text.

the right thing and include the link. (Beat's the heck out of that duplicate content BS doesn't it?) But I digress. The title of the article may play a part, but how would 2 articles with just the same title even be a good comparison? You have no idea if the article is structured for the niche. The title of the article is just one thing. Many others go into it. And optimizing one's own site would have nothing to do with EZA. If an article from EZA is #1, it will dang hard to beat. EZA has clamped down on keyword stuffing as well. That's why I gave it up. I had to use my real keyword, then lie and say my chosen keyword is something else. Too much nonsense. So, I do squidoo and my own domains. I would also say that it would not be prudent to try and beat an EZA article with another EZA. Why? Why give EZA business? No guarantee that people will click on your link. Paul | |
