Doesn't seem like the SOC problems with captcha is getting fixed. I woudn't recommend this software to anyone planning on buying it. Just use Google keyword tool and your own judgment - you will be far better off.

The latest version (5.12 I think) is going OK for me. But I'm using it more "gently" than I used to use it. cheers, Eric G. |

If you are using Windows XP you could bypass this problem by using Proxy Firewall Code: http://proxyfirewall.org/ Personally I prefer to use Market Samurai which has it's own inbuilt proxies, so doesn't suffer from this problem. |

Sorry to resurrect this thread. I've come back to MNF (v.5.2.6) after a few months and I'm getting the SOC blocked thing. I googled for info about the problem and found this thread. I'm going to try using a proxy firewall. Thanks for the tip, moonfish! |

Hi, they have been having some issues getting MNF to work with the updated Google Keyword tool. I just got an email from James and they have fixed the issue. Try doing an update on the application from the options tab and you should get the newest version that resolves the issue. I'll be updating tonight. I haven't been able to use it for a week or so and am itching to do a little research. Good luck, the update should resolve your issues. |

I've updated, cleared out my temp internet files, restarted program, restarted my pc and I'm still getting "Blocked." No matter what I'm looking for or how long I take between searches, this is an ongoing issue. BAH! Fudge it, I'm going to write some articles... |

Micro Niche Finder is useless. I sent an email to them yesterday letting them know that I had given up on their tool. I've wasted hours and hours with that useless piece of junk and I'm moving on.

Here we are months / years later and the problem still hasnt been corrected in MNF IE blocked on everything and was advised to watch a video which would helkp me stop this problem. It was all about brainstorming and nothing about my issue of being blocked. It is bloody sad that a great piece of designing is cocked up by google - I could scream !!!!!!! |

I am using Micro Niche Finder 4.6.4 (someone gave it to me, so it's new to me though an old version) and it won't connect to google at all. I just keep getting the can't connect to the internet error although of course I am connected just fine to the net and have a very fast dsl connection. The connection wizard in MNF that allows me to connect directly or through IE and tests my connection won't connect to google by any of the 4 methods offered. Anyone know what's going on and how I can resolve this problem? I've heard good things about MNF but after reading this thread it appears maybe it's not so great after all, and especially if I can't even get it to connect! |

Google have made many changes to their site, which has resulted in a number of updates to MNF to keep it functioning. Earlier versions of MNF, especially prior to vs 5, would have no hope of working today. It's a waste of time getting copies of this program from well-meaning friends as it is updated several times a month to take into account changes to data sources, such as Google. Ivan |

Hi Vicone, thanks much for that bit of info! I guess I may as well uninstall the thing and throw it away then. However, please answer this: Looking around the forum and seeing comments about MNF in other threads it does seem that it sometimes has issues with google - causing one to not be allowed to search on google without a captcha and so on. So my question is, is this software really worth buying at the price they want for it? Is it reliable in terms of being able to do searches whenever you want or is there a significant amount of down time with it? How does it compare to Market Samurai or Traffic Travis or any other similar tool? I know there are threads on this but I'm asking here anyway, to get your opinion or any others who are currently using MNF. I'm mostly going to be using it for amazon affiliate and adsense sites. So am interested in any recommendations. |

I've been using MNF for several years and I'm happy with it. It does have issues from time to time but the support for the program is constant and they act promptly to bring out updates to resolve problems. The difficulties usually arise from changes on the internet, especially with Google. As they are a primary source of information for most of the keyword tools that are out there, support for the product is essential as it is a continuing process. I have not used Market Samurai extensively though it seems to be a comprehensive tool and has a very good reputation. I understand that they recently discontinued a key function in this tool which ought to be investigated if you are considering getting that product. I have Traffic Travis but only use it in a supplementary role for MNF and other techniques. If you are planning to be active as an Amazon affiliate, I highly recommend the WSOs that Erica Stone has released. They are excellent and not expensive. In particular, get the one about writing product reviews. You can find them easily by doing a search in the Special Offers section of this forum. Ivan |
