What are your thoughts about the 5 most important elements of SEO in 2010?

This is another one of those questions that's coming from the wrong place - there is NO 'most important' element.

Each niche is different and each business has things which are more or less relevant.

You can get 100 different answers to your question and they could all be right for the person saying them, or they could be irrelevant comments which don't apply to you.

The question is - what are the most effective elements FOR YOU.... everything is doesn't matter.

Get your onpage SEO done right from the start and focus on offpage SEO.

There are factors that weigh more, but nobody knows for certain which factor is the most important. However, there are a few that are generally agreed to be more important. These include having your keyword in your domain name, having your keyword in your Title tags, anchor text backlinks, etc.

I would have to agree.

Off page seo anchor text backlinks. Then have a site that converts. Its all about the money. Do things that make you money. Or move you towards your goal. Whatever that may be if its not money.

Forget everything you know about SEO in 2009 and before. That is the best advice. It's all about Social Networking these days. Get your face and personality in front of thousands of friends on Social Networks. Social Networking will grow your list 10X faster than older SEO Methods like Article Marketing. Blog Commenting is starting to be less effective these days because it is so easy for Spammers. I recommend getting connected to as many social networks as possible and doing link building through there.

Still need somewhere to convert the sale. In 2010 the obvious answer to that will not be a sales page (which always was clumsy).

I recommend getting connected to as many social networks as possible and doing link building through there.

I have never seen many links from social networking sites show up when doing a link check. Aside from that the traffic you get from these sites is not as targeted as SE traffic.

With that being said I think the most important factor will be the same as it always has to me. Keyword Research. This is the first step and the most important. The better you are at it the less you have to worry about SEO. Aside from that backlinking is the obvious answer.

This is not a full list but it may be a little help to you



A few things that are relevant to “on page” SEO are:

·Always start with keyword research – use Google Keyword Tool
·Make sure you purchase a suitable URL – one that has your main keyword in it.
·Make sure that the keyword in your URL appears in the first sentence
·Ensure that the key word density is around 3%-5%. This is the amount I prefer but I have seen higher. Too high could be considered spamming.
·Use header tags
·Use meta tags - some people say to use others day no nut I still use and get good results
·Use internal links from page to page.
·Make sure you have unique content
·Use a site map

Now let’s look at some “off page” SEO:

·Again, make sure you use your keyword research
·Use keywords in your links
·Link from other site
·Link from articles
·Link from blogs
·Make sure you only link one way

I think this will work with SOME niches but not all. Of all the users for most social networks, the most active users seems to be those trying to sell everyone else something.

Stick to the basics and creating pages that loads quickly
