I did an exact match campaign last night - 10 or fewer keywords for this. I sent traffic to 2 pages, 2 campaigns, and thought I was on a roll because when I did the setup, I had a nice 7/10 quality score. Wake up this morning and it says my ads aren't showing due to poor landing page quality. Soooooooooooooo confused. I read the guidelines. I get it. 100% unique content, I have a sitemap, etc. I just don't know what I'm missing. I don't really want to post the pages here but if there's a kind hearted soul who wants to educate me, PM me. I'd LOVE to get the hang of this. It's why I always rely on web 2.0 and I want to play with the big boys in PPC. lol tiff |

As both above have already said... Google wants to see the that the keywords that you are bidding on are relavent (found) on your landing page. So if your keywords need to be very similar and you might need to restructure or rewrite your landing page to improve the quality score. All of your keywords for any adgroup should be very similar. So if you've got a bunch of different kinds of keywords all in the same group, you'll have to split them up into multiple adgroups with multiple landing pages for it to work. Remember, almost everyone loses money up front with PPC. You just have to test the hell out of it and figure out what works and what doesn't. Cheers, -Tom |

Make sure the keywords that you're targeting (or some slight variation or synonym) are in the <title>, <h1>, <h2>s if applicable, and content of the page. Since quality scores have come about, relevance has become more and more imporant. It's not just based on click-thru-rates.

It's actually part of what as said above, but only a small part. The largest part of the equation is CTR. Google already knows if the keywords you're bidding on work or not. They have this data from others who have already run those keywords. They know what the bid should be at and they know what the CTR will be at that bid. (IF anyone could ever get the info they have, they would be billionaires too). So, when you setup your campaign, you did everything right except for one thing that everyone ignores. You set your bid too low to start. It's that simple. Quality score is 80% CTR and 20% everything else. Everyone focuses on the 20% for some odd reason. Focus on what matters, the 80% and you'll be fine. If you set your initial bids too low, they won't run your ads as you're taking money out of their pockets to do so. They'd rather stick with a campaign from someone else who will pay more and has a great CTR already. |

OK, we all know that your keywords must be relevant so I won't say it. What Tiff said is that her landing page quality was considered poor. Nobody said anything about this. Usually, a QS=1 is because of poor landing page quality. And the most frequent reason for that is because you have affiliate links on your page that go to the merchant's sale page. Check the Adwords guidelines and look for bridge page. Until you fix that, nothing will change. |

Those articles are kind of short. Longer would be better. Or add more info "below the fold" if you think it would be distracting. | |

You do not want to have Adsense on a Landing Page when you use Adwords. They consider this arbitrage. This will always put up a red flag. |
