I needed my AdSense account number so I logged into my account today. I seldom go there as there is no activity in it. But when I logged in today, there was a BIG difference. I had some clicks and money. I guess I am making progress. I am not really getting too excited over the $0.86 I got for three clicks. <sarcasm>I have a really impressive 1.23% CTR </sarcasm> O well, all this is going to change soon. I am taking John Schwartz's (Zeus66) course on AdSense. I think everyone knows him and his expertise in this area. It is a great course and I recomend it to anyone the next time he offers it. I am not making a fortune yet, but I am making progress. I have got one Clickbank check, now a few cents in AdSense, so I just got to get better, and rinse and repeat. I am retired early due to health problems, so I have plenty of time to do this. My main problem is to stay focused and not get side tracked. I spend more time than I should on the Warrior Forum, but this is a very interesting place and I am learning stuff. |

Congratulations! Don't cross the river and spend it all at the Dancin' Bare! Stick with it, keep doing what works, throw out what doesn't, and make mo' money. John |

Hi, Tim, I can remember the first time I opened up AdSense and found a few cents listed. I was excited, since it was proof positive that, if done right, this IM stuff can make some money. Since then, it has steadily grown, but not fast enough to get a check yet. Nor have I earned a check from Clickbank. I have made some sales, but not enough to meet their payout threshold, which means each time it dwindled down until they owed me nothing. (UUGGGG!!) :-) Anyway, I just have to keep working and work harder and smarter to get there. I spend more time on the Warrior Forum than I should, too, but then I have learned an enormous amount of information--even more since I paid for the membership in the Private forum. If you haven't yet, I highly recommend it. It is a fantastic resource. Best wishes. Linda |

The only reason I mention that is because if your site gets a reasonable amount of traffic and you still have a low CTR, you might want to look at tweaking your site and ad layout/colours, etc, since there is likely a very good chance of your being able to vastly improve your CTR this way.

Don't get over to the Ptl. area much, they are crazy over there. Just kidding. I like going there when I need to buy something, as they don't have any sales tax. But don't let anyone know.Quote:
Either way, we just got to keep at it. Sooner or later we will find success, even if it is by accident. The key is to never give up. Keep working and learning.

According to Google, I had around 250 views. According to the stats on my HostGator account, I am getting close to 400 visits a month. I have not checked it in a while, but that was what I saw the last time I checked. I kind of gave up on this site a while back as it wasn't getting any clicks. I had done a bunch of back linking, and it all seemed for nothing. I was thinking of changing the theme, but I have been consumed with othe things. Now I have seen some clicks and revenue, I might work on it and add some more content.

That is real good man. You gotta start somewhere and that is normally from the bottom. Good luck and keep at it!

Good job man! Now you just need to drive some traffic and see if you can increase that CTR. It sounds like you're not in a very competitive niche based on the CPC your seeing. However if you can generate some traffic you could still make a decent amount of money. I have a similar site that gets roughly 3000 hits daily and because the CPCs are low I'm getting a little of $100/mo. Just keep up the good work and don't stop trying to improve your stats. |

You mentioned that you don't often check your Adsense account, which is actually good practice, I know you said it's because of low activity at the moment, but even when the clicks increase which I'm sure they will, the more you focus on building traffic and less you check your stats the better, to a degree, obviously you need to be aware of progress. What I'm trying to say is, I know from my experience in the past I use to check my stats constantly and didn't realize at the time why I was becoming so frustrated and it's because I was checking my stats more than I was building. Best of luck with Zeus66's Adsense course by the way!!

It's a start - be proud of that! Now just keep ramping up - focusing on getting more traffic, higher rankings and adding more sites. You'll be amazed how fast these things can grow |

Now that you've started making some money with Adsense on that site you should start focusing on making some more. Add some fresh content, make sure the ad blocks are optimised with the best colours etc and then start driving some more traffic. Your income will increase in no time and it's always nice to get a monthly payment from Adsense.
