What is Page Rank Update? Hard Lesson Learned!

Yes, Uncles google recently updated pagerank of all websites. Contrary to what some "gurus" will tell you, page rank will determine your organic traffic flows.

Hard lesson learned:

1- Only seek links from sites with high page rank. When you get links from sites with page rank 0, guess what? your page rank will be zero.

2-I have now reached the conclusion, that what determines a link in google eyes is the anchor text. If you get a link from a page rank 7 forum and you submit a very good article to ezinearticles: by google standards you just got a link. Let me explain further,

I have a year old domain with over 70 unique articles. + i have submitted over 30 unique articles to ezinearticles and other articles directories. My page rank for this expensive website pr3. Now i have a new domain 1 month old, 6 unique articles. The only promotion used is Senuke profile module + plus bookmarking. Did the senuke run 2x and now my new site is PR3.

Now, what prevented the old domain from getting a higher page rank can be traced to the unique spun articles submitted through Unique articles wizard. Unique articles wizard mostly submits to pro 0 or pr1 websites.

Conclusion, get links from high page rank sites and get as many as you can. The easiest way is through forum profiles. Stay away from getting thousands of links from pr0 sites or you will pay dearly in organic traffic.

PR does not directly affect SERP rankings. In certain circumstances they might be correlated, depending on the backlink portfolio, but there certainly is no cause and effect here.

Then the other 0.1% will consist of PR5 or higher.

Yes, PR has little (if any at all) influence when it comes to ranking. Other factors play a more important role than PR.

I dont agree, you can still increase your page rank by getting links to PR 0 sites, you just need to increase the quantity.

yes of course your PR depends on the PR of the sites linking to you. Nothing really new.

So many times I have seen it said, that a back link is like a vote, in Google's eyes. Everyone's vote counts, but the higher authority or PR of the site, the more it counts. Even the lowest of low sites get the votes counted. It just takes more PR na or 0 votes to equal a PR9 vote.

None of this is based on any authoritative knowledge I have, it is just common sense, influenced by the stuff I have read here on the forum and other places.

Contrary to most readers of your post thinking otherwise, I think you are right. The only caveat is that the links does not have to be a profile link. It can be any high PR backlink.

Why do you think an EZA article of an Wikipedia new page ranks quicker than the jack-jill-tom-liz sites?

Of course it is the domain PR (PR of the home page of the domain)!

By the way, I have a few #1 rankings in competitive niches, but don't want to give the niches away just to prove.

Having said that, yes, you can still rank if you have high quantity of backlinks from low-ranked pages.

Utter rubbish.....Page rank means absolutely nothing to me....all my PR O niche sites rank higher than a lot of the PR 4 and 5 sites.

There is no link between page rank and organic traffic flow otherwise I wouldn't have any traffic at all!!

If the same keywords were targeted exactly in a similar fashion by a higher PR site, I believe it would outrank you.

Notice that I also mean here that if the higher PR site is targeting 5 keywords and have split across them, and the lower PR site has been targeting only 1 KW rather than 5, then you may still beat the higher-PR guy, but still not very likely.

I think you need more links with PR0 compare to PR4 for example, but you cannot say that Pr0 links are useless. Here is the quantity vs. quality. For example 100 links with PR0 is almost equal to 1 link with PR5.

Well how come on occassion I have outranked a top level keyword domain that has a PR of 4 and is obviously targeting the same specific keyword with a .net domain with a PR0??....that would render your statement as false?
