Default Very Confusing SEO and PR Situation

I have a website, but i didn't create any thing on the root domain, i have just created a directory named "blog" and redirected my root domain name to /blog.

Example.

hxxp://www.domain.com redirected to http://www.domain.com/blog/ ("blog" is a directory that i have created" )

The problem i realized today that "google" is not indexing the "hxxp://domain..com/blog/", i have never noticed that before since all my posts get indexed within 5 minutes.

But, today when Google updated the PR i have seen that i got only PR 1 for my root domain name ( i have more than 4000 incoming links, consist all types of links like edu links, high pr do follow links, guest posts on high pr blogs, profile links etc)

----------------------------------------------------------

Google has also given some of my inner pages as high as 3 PR, but only gave 1 to my root domain and 1 to hxxp://www.domain.com/blog/ (also, i don't know why Google is not indexing that page)

-----------------------------------------------------------
You can see the live example of my situation by going to the site "http://www.hongkiat.com/", you will see that this site is also redirected on "blog" directory and "Online Tips for Tech Users, Designers and Bloggers" is not indexed in Google.

-----------------------------------------------------------
hxxp://www.hongkiat.com/ has a pr 3 but in my opinion this site deserves the more than PR 3, as you can analyze the statistic of this site. This site is not even slapped in google as its ranking very well on google.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The problem is many of my pages like "www.domain.com/blog/post-name/" got PR 3, which means my domain name also getting good links.

So, now can anyone explain why this is happening, why i got only 1 PR at my root domain and why Google is not indexing "http://www.domain.com/blog/" ?

I also didn't stop there and went on to analyzing the again two big sites hxxp://problogger.net and hxxp://outspokenmedia.com. As you can see that they both also got their blog installed at /blog "ProBlogger Blog Tips – The Blog" and "Internet Marketing Blog | SEO Blog | Outspoken Media" which are indexed.

It might be sounding little confusing but, if you understood the problem then do reply. I know i have good links and i have also shown you the example of http://www.hongkiat.com/ (so pls don't point out that i don't have good quality links).

I think the problem is might be related to redirect or i have done something wrong while creating the directory or site architecture.

Do Reply.

I have checked and found your root domain, http://www.hongkiat.com/ has pagerank 3 and your blog, Online Tips for Tech Users, Designers and Bloggers is indexed.
