I tried xsitepro when it first came out. it produces awful code and I found it much harder to use than a normal HTML editor.

The one good thing they had going for them is a very good support team, so my advice is ask the xsitepro team for advice about how to add adsense, they may even have a video so look around in the resources.

I have put in my adsense id, and I've created an adsense channel for the site and put that in aswell. but I can't find where I put in the adsense code - the html. I found "source", but it says that part isn't used for the type of site I'm making.

As I said I'm going by xfactor's whatever, so I need to make it a real website.

It's strange he didn't say anything about it being hard - or provide instructions - in the ebook...

thansk for the advice.

ONCE the code is in, that is it. the software takes care of the rest whenever you create or put adsense on a page.

As tijay says...in the "design" mode just put your curser where you want the adsense block to go...right click and the 5th one down in the pop up menu is "insert advertising"...place your curser over that and another menu pops up and you see "google adsense" to click on

(Edit: I CAN'T SEND PM'S YET)

AWESOME response in this thread.

Okay. person who had the template: add me on msn and we'll discuss this; my msn is the same mail as I have in my profile; unfortunately I have too few posts on this forum to include emails in the posts lol.

Anyone else that wants to, can add me. Especially those here that had made adsense work. I'm going to try what you said, but I'm afraid I won't succeed without further guidance - I feel retarded - so talking on msn would be good.

"The tab you selected isn't available for this type of page" is the response I get when I try to go into design-mode.

Actually... I really don't have to use Xsite - as it's f*cking with me I'm considering switching program - as I have pictures of how it's going to look, and it's super simple, so think I'm going to try doing the same thing instead in dreamweaver.

Anyone got any input on anything, feel free to respond

Hi Simon, sorry you're having trouble with XSitePro. When you bought it, you should have gotten two manuals with it that show you how to do everything. They also have lots of videos. If you can't find where you put them when you downloaded the software, click on the help button within the software and it'll take you to the manuals. There is also a a forum if you really get stuck.

You will need to put your adsense code in the affiliate tool manager before you insert it into your page. You can access it from the upper left hand area. Click on add new and you have choices of ways to add the code. Choose the script, copy and past your adsense code in. Identify it at the top as, say, Google Adsense car site for example. You will probably have set up channels in adsense and this way, you will be able to keep them straight as you add more pages to your sites. After you have done this, you will add the code as you are making your page or put it in the sidebar, whichever you prefer. Just position your cursor where you want the code placed, right click and it will bring up your affiliate manager. Select your Google adsense option and click. It will show up as a javascript placeholder. You will not be able to actually see the ad until you hit preview page.

I am assuming that you have gotten your code from Google adsense to create your chosen ad block to begin with. That has to come first.

I hope I haven't confused you even more, lol. XSitePro really is great software, but there is a learning curve, just like anything else. I build most of my sites in it from scratch rather than use templates, but they have lots of templates you could use to make it a little easier. If you need anything else, just ask.

I can't even find an affiliate tool manager..? Affiliate wizard there is but. hmm, I have put in my adsense id and stuff like that; if it's that you're tlaking about..

Very confused. But, I actually managed to insert the ads; didn't know I had to create a new page to do so. ...If I have to; after reading what you said. uhh...

hmm, one problem though is that I need to have one of the ads to the left; and I can't put it there, it refuses to go there. wtf? I deleted the left bar - as I thought that might have something to do with it - but nope.

I'll keep on asking, don't worry lol.

Hi Simon, I input my adsense code using the Affiliate Wizard. When I want it on a page, I right click while in Web Page, Design Tab. You can do this as you are building the page, or go back in to a page that is already published and update it. Make your changes and republish. If you want the ad on the left, outside of the page itself, you will need to go into the Page Layout and enable left panel, click on Designer, right click and select your ad block just like on a page. Are you using a template or designing your site from scratch? If you chose a template that does not have a left panel, that may be your problem.

If you open the help screen or manual for xsp - it will tell you how to do any step you're stuck on.
