Default The role of DoFollow forums in SEO?

What are some of the best ways to utilize DoFollow forums in your personal experience?

Hello, Warriors! Today in my research, I am delving into the world of DoFollow Forums. I am signed up to quite a few, ranging from PR4 to PR9. I've crafted my keyword-anchored sigs, I've submitted my topic-relevant posts. Now what?

It has been quite a few months since I've started posting and I notice that the search engines do not seem to register many of these posts. I am starting to wonder if my posts are even being indexed!

Is there a certain way one must go about gaining rank & backlinks on DoFollow forums? I am starting to believe by posting in a bunch of these forums I am merely throwing a bunch of nails to a pile of boards hoping they make a house. I realize I might be missing a hammer.

What are some of the best ways to utilize DoFollow forums in your personal experience?

Also, I'm also wondering this: Let's say you post 25 with Link A in your signature, then change your sig link, and post another 25 times with Link B in your signature. Does google count this as 25 backlinks for Link A and another 25 as Link B? Or will it count it as 50 backlinks for Link B because when you changed your signature it went back and changed it on all the posts you made before? Let me know if it's confusing, I'll try to clarify Thanks!

The traffic does help. I feel the best bet for dofollow forums is it is a good way to get your webpages indexed.

Good point; I feel DoFollow increases chance of being indexed.

However, will posting on DoFollow forums increase your Page Rank? And will it give your website credibility to gain rankings on SERP?

The role of dofollow forum is quiet impressive in SEO as it helps to get some of the good traffic from the users.

What do you mean by this sir?

SEO is for, of course, Search Engines. How can more traffic from users increase one's ranking within the SERP?

Benefits of a NoFollow Forum
  1. Specific niche
  2. Passionate members
  3. Increased non-SEO traffic
  4. Strengthened friendships/networking
  5. Genuine Interest
Disadvantage of a NoFollow Forum
  1. No SEO boost (???)
  2. Time-consuming with questionable long-term benefit in SERPs.
Seems the benefits outweight the disadvantages. But in Internet Marketing I want my work to work for me - DoFollow forums seem to offer me benefit of backlinks with each and every post. But so far I have yet to experience this firsthand.

Jaspry,

You could try Backlink booster or seo link dominator (dominator offers free trial).

Ive not looked into backlink booster yet, dominator allows you import high pr do follow backlink packets and create profiles fast and then gets them indexed.

Alternatively you can use the autofill form plugin for firefox which is free and create profiles on high pr forums pretty quickly. You would still need to get them indexed though.

This is exactly what I was looking for in information! +1 Thanks

I'll look into Dominator. Creating profiles is a lengthily process! And that's what I was wondering, if they needed to be indexed.

May I ask, I see a purpose for the dofollow link in the profile - but what about the ongoing accrual of DoFollow signature links? I have 50 posts or so on this forum. I took out my signature links around post 40 because I didn't want to flood with backlinks and risk some sort of penalty. Does that mean I have 40 backlinks out there for the sites that used to be in my signature? That's what i wanted to answer in this topic =)

As I understand it, if you had 40 links in 1 forum then you will just be credited with 1 backlink from that domain if you are only backlinking to 1 site. So, you could have just all your sig links in place and it would have given more chance for the search engines to find at least one of them.

If you are backlinking to more than 1 site then you will be credited to a backlink to each site.

Also, do a search for "indexing profile links" on this forum, theres a few ways to get your links noticed besides using the above mentioned software.

You need your backlinks from as many different domains as possible.

I changed my signature on another forum a while back and shortly after I did drop in serps for the particular anchor text. It could have been coincidence that google was just updating serps at the time I did it. Since then I would rather not change the sig. Instead I would use the different anchor text on another forum or site instead.

If NoFollow sources are a waste of time for SEO, is there any benefit to Google for them? Such as, building trust?

That's rough but I can see how it could happen. If you change your signature it goes back and shows your new sig on all of your old posts ... so technically that backlink wouldn't exist anymore. I believe I will keep my anchor text the same and just post it differently on another forum.

I read elsewhere that having multiple posts on one forum boosts your backlink count, but that it is also good to have many domains. Does anyone else have a rebuttal or agreement to any of these statements?

Think about a signature link in this thread. Does it help your rankings in the search engines? This thread is typical of most forum threads - it will never get above PR0 and there are probably close to 100 links on this page (eg navigation links, header and footer links, tags, profile links, signature links etc) and there will be a lot more as the thread grows.

So that a PR0 that is divided by the 100 or so outgoing links - that means a link on this page is totally worthless ... next to zero link juice.

If you are concerned about the traffic, forget about dofollow or nodofollow... Just pick some niche related forum.

Hmm,

I posted here 2 or 3 days ago saying I was testing some backlinks on PR 6 No Follow blogs, the actual links were directly on the PR 6 pages, maybe half a dozen links at most.

Now here I am a few days later and a main keyword I have been trying to get ranked never even showed in the serps, it now sits on page 7.

Not sure what to make of this yet.

Now I know most will tell me its useless to post on these blogs but with a huge jump like this I think I will do some more testing.

I think dofollow signature links should be and can be an important part of SEO strategy. I have also not had any problems getting these links indexed. It just takes time and does not normally happen over night. Sometimes it takes months.

Even if the link from a forum does not help all that much, there are so many sites and opportunities and they are easy enough to get that it is worth while in my opinion.

best of luck to you.
