Hello Warriors, What is the acceptable keyword density percentage for blog posts and/or article submissions that will not be considered "keyword stuffing". Thank you for replies |

For my blog ... I don't worry about density , I optimize for the keywords but if they come up naturally I will put them in as often as needed . Article directories are a different animal. Checking their TOS is always a good practice . Each one may vary . |

I know that anytime I submit an article and it goes over 2% at EzineArticles they tell me to adjust my article because it has too many keywords. After following their lead on it, (figuring they were all about pleasing Google) I have tried using that formula in all of my writings including blog posts. I have found that it has improved my results. NOTE: This is NOT based on strict testing, just noticeable to my experienced feel for it. |

Go with 2%, you'll be find. Get your keyword in the title. In the first sentence if you can. Once in the middle of your article or posts. Put it in the last paragraph. Works for most marketers. |

In my opinion it doesn't really make much of a difference. It's not a huge ranking factor so you're probably best off writing for the reader. If you have the chance to use it a couple of times throughout your content then go for it but don't force it. |

I always go with 2.8-3.3% for review or pre-sell type pages. I can't prove that's optimal, but I have done a fair amount of testing and have pretty conclusive evidence to support my claim. Others could disagree. There are a lot of variables in the mix--and KWD is not the most important of those variables to be sure, still, based I what I've done it seems to work. Like others said, that's too high for places like EZA--I'd max out at about 1.5% there. Quality back-links and LSI factors are much, much more important for Google--again, just an opinion. --Mike |

Hi guys i always go for 7% and get great results back from it - it totally depends on how popular the keyword is and whether it is an article, press release etc. kind regards sam X |

| Yep, that's the formula I use as well. But if I can get the keyword in the title twice I'm extra happy!

Hi =) You may want to go for 3-5% keyword density. Not stuffed and not to less.

Usually, if you can keep the keyword density between 2% and 8%, it is considered as a proper density. Of course, if your density is about 10%, it is still allowed. |

Definitely put it in the title and in the first and last paragraph. Other than that, write for the reader.

I never go up than 7%, even that is to much, but since that is not very important factor, I can cross it and have a nice written article.

| "Allowed" by whom?! ![]() This is simply opinion dressed up as a factual answer, and I strongly disgree with it. The answers to your two questions are:- (i) Regarding blogs, they're your websites and you get to make up the rules; (ii) Regarding articles, those websites belong to article directories and they get to make up the rules, which vary (in both their details and their enforcement policy) from site to site. At EZA, for example, the upper limit is 2%; their software enforces this automatically and they won't an accept an article containing more than 2% keyword density. Personally, I try to get as close to 2% as I can without exceeding it, and I do the same in all other article directories, too. That's just personal preference, though. Good luck. |

Some excellent feedback on this post. Unfortunately the number is slightly different for Google versus Yahoo! For Google you do want to stay around 2%. I've been able to get as high as 4 - 7% on Yahoo! but when you are up around that percentage your text doesn't read as naturally. To cover both, I try to stay at 2 - 3% keyword density for the page.

I always use keyword density of around 3.5%-4% and it helps me rank high on google most of the times.

| Experience my friend. I find 4% is the "sweet spot". Basically, if your keyword density if above 10%, you'll be flagged as a keyword stuffer. and keyword density above 15% is unreadable by humans... For example, if your main keywords (keywords you look to rank for) is dog-training, here is what 15% keyword density will look like. "Dog-training can be tough if your dog-training techniques are outdated. Dog-training takes time and dog-training can be done by some who's dog-training techniques are well reputed. So, which dog-training strategies should a person use if someone has no dog-training experience? I can assure you that dog-training requires dog-training exercises on your part. Would dog-training be easier if you hired someone educated in dog-training?" The above example is a good example of keyword stuffing. The best way to reduce the "keyword stuffing" is increase content. A good way to do that is to post articles on your site, about dog-training. If your site has a total of 15,000 words and you only have dog-training at a 4% density, your keywords are shown 600 times, which is pretty good compared to other "basic sites" in the same context. Hope this answers your question to my reply. -Edited to add a free tool- http://www.webconfs.com/keyword-density-checker.php ^^ Free tool I use to check keyword density. |

I have found it is less about Keyword density and more about LSI. So instead of repeating Golfball, I say Tiger Woods, Titlist, Arnold Palmer, British Open, |
