Default Akismet is a pain in the ...

I never had this problem before, but it's obvious that the success of certain cheap software which can (foolishly) be used to spam, has made the Wordpress Akismet filter go mad. Basically, it seems blog owners are so fed up with spam, anything with a link in profile gets picked up as spam.

I got one of my domains blacklisted after doing maybe 50 blog comments manually on high pr blogs. Each and every blog comment was relevant to the post and added value, but because webmasters are getting spammed to high heaven, they seem to report spam even on legit comments. Of course, it could be Akismet and some new change because I never had these problems before.

Has anyone been removed from an Akismet blacklist?

I am probably just going to add comments for a whole lot of Web.2.0 instead, which will probably look less spammy to webmasters.

I had experienced the same as yours before and I emailed akismet regarding on the issue and when they have relied to my email they said that they don't have any feature of blacklisting a website. But I'm still experiencing the same problem.

You're still posting comments on those sites for the SEO benefits.

If you really cared about those sites and were leaving legit comments you wouldn't care if you could get a backlink out of the site of not.

You're trying to make what your doing feel better than what others are doing with scrapebox but it's all spam in the eyes of Akismet.

If the webmasters like your comments then they will approve them. If you are using keywords for your name then chances are they are hitting the spam button without even reading your comments.

It sucks, I know.

You mean your domain got blacklisted in Google? Or just in the high PR sites you commented on?

Well, I also use Scrapebox, but not for spamming.

Lesson learned though, I will add a blog in the website field instead.
