I know that many people here build links like Paul and Angela offer, but they find the sites themselves. Is there a certain strategy Paul and Angela use while searching for links? Or, do they just aimlessly browse the web until they find decent websites to place in their packets? Some Background: -------------------- Although I have been subscribing to Paul and Angela for quite some time, I am looking to find sites for myself. (If we're able to find our own sites, there will be a less of a chance of the admin deleting the links that we post.) Anyway, I occasionally run into great places to put links, while I am browsing the internet, but I want something more consistent. |

There are certain forum and community platforms out there that (1) are vast, and (2) have some sort of footprint which you can search for. These footprints may include things such as: (1) the footer might say "powered by xxx" (2) there might be a group of words or a phrase which is unique on the register, login or other page of the site; (3) there might be something unique in the URL itself for that platform. You can then search for sites using that footprint in Google. You need to click on a profile though to make sure it is publicly viewable (i.e., you can view it while not logged in), and then use a firefox plugin (like SEO Quake) to confirm any links placed in the bio/signature are not nofollow. The big forum and community platforms are: Vbulletin Simple Machines Forum (SMF) ExpressioonEngine PhpBB Invision Power Board (IP Board) Telligent Of course, there is a lot to be said for looking for some of the smaller platforms out there. Lately, I have been simply typing in the keywords "register" + "forum" into Google. Works pretty well. Anyway, I'll go with the strategy you mentioned. Thanks so much for your tips, dude.

And improvise this... Look out for "visitor messages". Most owners overlook this and don't close up the loophole. If the first profile sinks into G index, get as many profiles as you can. Create tons of conversation with the first one (just pretend) and at the same time, build links. The site owners have no idea at all ![]() I think someone is selling this secret in WSO. Sorry, I've to say to that seller. This isn't new dude. Just a clue... If someone is seasoned in tracking down certain smart profilers through G listing, he or she is able to find out the sites that work. Hardi |

Tom's method is definitely better than the one I'm about to list so use that in preference. But the more the merrier right? You can also find sites to get backlinks on by reverse engineering other sites. I'm not talking about the usual competition analysis you do but analysing the highly competitive SERPs to see what they've got (and they will have *tons* of links). |

| Agreed. If you have some extra coin of course, using Scrapebox is the way to go as it is the best harvester/scraper around and will do all the PR checking for you.

I personally use SEO quake for this purpose, it helps to get do follow forums and blogs with high page rank, but be careful the way you use the addon because you may be banned by search for demanding to much information from them each time. Anyway, I'd advice you to follow the tutorials of SEO quake so as to reduce the risk of getting banned. This has never happend to me(I've never been banned, but I it can happen) |

It is time consuming and tedious, but well worth it. Do this daily and slowly build your backlinks up, and you will reap the rewards in the end. Dont try to win the race unethically. Its not worth it.

yeah SEO quake is awesome tool for finding these sites. You can search google for modifiers that you can type into google's search box and get all kinds of cool results. So yeah Top Commenter is also good for leaving backlinks on blogs that allow your link.
