I noticed that they are not using Adsense but Affinity (never heard of them before) and they now only have a PR4 ... they did have a PR6 if I am not mistaken.

For small websites, it may be. But for large websites, they may make more money than Adsense when using other ad networks.

Some time ago GA inserted text link ads into author's articles on their site. This was done without warning and the outcry from authors was pretty loud. GA then said it was "testing" a new method and within a few weeks the text link ads disappeared. This may be another testing of the same system of ads to see if the GA site can be monetized better. I don't remember what the PR was of the site but that can fluctuate at times. kay |
