Default Help! Dropped from 2nd spot to 18th in SERPs after content change.

Hello fellow warriors, I need some SEO advice. Recently my site has dropped from 2nd spot for my main keyword to second page after I rearranged by home page (it was too long) moving half the content to it's own page. The keyword density hasn't changed all that much and my home page is still rated A+ using traffic travis page analysis tool.

My question is: It's been about 3 days now. Is this drop in ranking temporary and will I return to second spot soon? or should I reverse the changes I made or build links more aggressively to regain my position in the serps.

Thanks in advance

Perhaps your keyword density dropped when you removed the content?

This is not really that uncommon, as the G picked up on the change and will (hopefully re-index the new content). Are you using WMT?? If not then I would get it installed asap to help monitor the changes.. I would not suggest replacing the old content right away as its already in a place that needs to be indexed..

Hope that helps,

-Roland

@joecrupie

My density remained more or less the same.

@thinkweb

I've seen drops like this before for the same reasons, but my site would disappear totally to pages 100+ in the serps and then come back after a couple of days. This time's a bit odd I was just moved to pg 2 but my traffic took a serious hit

thinkweb what is WMT?

Any more ideas? or Should I just wait a bit longer and see what happens
