Default Not Another Dupe Content Thread!!... Oh yes it is lol

Hey guys
I'm not getting into the same stuff as all the other threads posted on this topic, but I just have been noticing something lately that I don't understand. I bought a bunch of PLR articles about a few months ago and I'm just starting to use them for spinning and such. I copied and pasted the first few sentences into google and noticed that these articles have been posted on many different websites (which i knew would be the case) but also all these pages are indexed!!! I thought having the same content as other places would be a really really bad idea, yet all of these places are indexed in google? what's up with that, and what's stopping me from using this article exactly as it is on my website?

Well, nothing is stopping you but:

If you are applying to adsense and using these articles and they find out they don't really like mass produced sites with all the same content.

You can see sites that are indexed, but sometimes they can get de-indexed/sandboxed after the fact.

You are not likely going to rank on those pages when the same pages are found in a lot of places either.

I'm sure you're going to get different advice from tons of different people, but here is my educated opinion:

Duplicate content is a total myth.

What really happens is Google chooses the most relevant version of a piece of content and then the next, and the next, and so on.

It also tries to mix in different content where it can to provide different results for those that search for a term.

To become the most relevant, post the content to sites that are optimized (ezinearticles, articlesbase, squidoo, hubpages, wordpress.com etc...).

Then link to it as much as you can.
