Hi Everyone, A strange thing happened this week. I put a site up last week, with a small amount of content. Anyway on Monday I checked and could see it had been indexed. It was even showing on 3rd page of google for the search term. I have not sent any links to it yet, so nothing agressive. Anyway yesterday I added it to the webmaster tools. Checked this morning and the site is knowhere to be found. Very strange. Has anyone else had any experience of this? Thanks |

Yes, it is perfectly normal and happens with the majority of my sites as well. Don't worry, it will be back!

First thing, don't get confused by the differences between "indexing" and "ranking". Your site can still be indexed, but ranking changed or removed (the opposite isn't true, you can't rank if you're not indexed). To see if your site is still indexed (and not sandboxed), simply type in Google: site:yourdomain.com If it's there, you're fine, and you're just experiencing the "Google Dance". If it's not there, then that's another issue. Submit your site to Google Webmaster Tools, XML sitemap. |

Did you resubmit to search engines again? This can cause your site to disappear sometimes and damage your rankings.

Well I have experienced this problem and as long as you stay calm and check if its still ranked you should be fine. The search engines throw you all around before they pick the right spot.

This is the strange thing. My site was definately indexed and also ranked, not ranked high, but was on the 3rd page. Now its totally gone, I mean from the index. Does not show up with the Site:yoursite.com search. I could understand if I had gone nuts with linking. But I have not done any linking whatsoever. Its just a standard WP site with a page of orignal content. The strange thing is, its only shortly after I added it to google webmaster tools thats it disappeared. So not sure what has happened. I shall leave it for a week or so and report back. Thanks |

So far it has happened to me only once so it is possible. Just treat it as though the first index did not happen. Start all over again to try to index your new site. You should get it indexed real soon.

It may happen because of 2 things 1. May be you might have submitted your site to deindexed blogs or sites. OR 2. It may happened to everysite when you submitted your site to authority sites. But in few days it will get indexed and ranks better. Check for 1 week,if you find the same deindexed ,then better to check your links ,where you have submitted, and then delete the links. |
