Can one actually make a few bucks on Squidoo? Also - can you put adsense on a lens?

You can make money on squidoo. It is also a good way to get backlinks and traffic to your site. You just need to build a quality lens and promote it with seo techniques. You can't put adsense on a lens. You do get revenue from an ad pool and info links.

I love squidoo for backlinking purposes & traffic. One of the best web 2.0's out there.

I made a squidoo lens a while back and I only made it for the backlink.

The traffic from it was an extra bonus

I'm not sure about if you can or can't put adsense on it or not, but the people that go to your site through adsense are arlready super high quality traffic and theres a better chance that they will click on the adsense you place on your site.

I get a decent sum in my paypal monthly, and the backlinks
rock. Squidoo funnels traffic as well. It takes time. You need
to pick your lens topic wisely. It does not have to be on
any subject you like, just on a great topic that gets a lot
of traffic. Look for trends. Week 1 of the current edition
of American Idol, we snatched a crystal bowersox lens.

It does take time. Once squidoo has established you as good
lensmaster, I do believe your lenses get a little more love.

Squidoo is my first choice for somewhat easy, high valued
backlinks.
