Successfully Adsense Warrior? Advice and a favour please

Hi.

I'm thinking of doing my first adsense site, I'm looking to do 15 -20 pages of quality human written unique content i.e. a quality small site.

Following outline I'm using for guidance I've got the list from AdsenseHeaven and ignored the top 1K of estimated CPC costs, stared looking in the $15-25 CPC range and there is a lot of choice.

BUT when I run Samurai over the keywords that have decent "search volume/click through" I'm seeing huge competition, red block after red block no way to page one there!

Should I be looking for a niche within an AdsenseHeaven keyword? How do I proceed?

On to the favour, I would like to see a successful Adsense site one that is doing well, not just a few $ per month. I'm especialy interested in the layout, "T+C" page and the "About" page.

I've just figured out what I'm doing wrong, I'd have one key word per-page, I'm not needing to get all the $ from one high earner!

I'd still like to see a good example site though

just because there is red in market samuari doesnt mean you have to ignore it, just build more backlinks, articles and it may take a little longer but will be well woth it in the end

I have just got a site to #2 in google in over 2 months and it gets over 1,100 searches per day, I havent seen a great deal in traffic to the site yet as its only just got there but so far its looking good.

the #1 site has been around since 99 so is hard to knock off but I will just keep working at it and time will tell

keep up the case study I have always fancied doing one but not enough time

Still struggling with the KWs, anything listed on AdsenseHeave that apparently gets more than one and sometimes not even one adsense click a day (ie too little traffic for Google trends to follow) seems to be covered with sites that according to Samurai are well optimised, big and old.

I'm far from sure that I could bull past enough of them and see any ROI.

I'm still missing something or probably misunderstanding the procedure, what do I need to do?
