Just wanted to share a little rant with y'all. I have two sites, both are targeting the same keywords. Both sites are equal in page rank and domain age and have essentially the same generic backlinks while one has a couple more backlinks that have been providing a little extra oomph. Up to two days ago, site one, the site with more ooomph, was in the top 10 for it's keywords (has been in that area for a while now), while site two has always been dragging a little bit behind. I would assume this was because I never gave site two the same amount of backlink love that I gave to site one. Two weeks ago I decided that site two needs to be up in the top 10 with it's buddy so I installed a new theme, made a few tweaks and changes and dropped a couple of fresh high PR backlinks. As expected, traffic and rankings dropped hard. Not a big deal. I knew it was coming due to the amount of changes I had made. As of yesterday, site two is now in the top ten and site one decided to go AWOL. One site goes up, the other goes down. C'mon google... give me a break here. Seriously. I'm trying to take over the first page and you're not playing ball. It's funny how this stuff works. |

the way to make Google stop dancing like that is to update the site (and specific post) with new content and drop outbound links to authority sites. .....but yea, weird eh? |
