Default Question about Linkwheels, backlink boosting and footprints

Lets say I build a randomized, open linkwheel that looks the most natural I can make it look and then boost each node in the wheel with pinging, rss submission and Ping.fm submission on a couple of ping.fm accounts.

I heard it's always a good idea not to leave any footprints, but won't having all the same bookmarking accounts connected through ping.fm for all the links be just like leaving a big footprint?

I also heard that backlink boosting is really powerful and will do good to my links. I don't know on witch side to stand now. Any tips or ideas is really appreciated. If submitting to ping.fm accounts is a bad idea, what are the other ways to promote the web 2.0 properties?

Thanks

Well if your doing all of this on the same IP, your going to leave a footprint no matter what. Unless you have a rotating proxy, then your best bet is to outsource to a company that can post/ping with diff IP's. But if you do a random enough wheel, thats not too excessive or redundant, and you build it slowly over time, you'll be just fine.

Tim, IP isn't problem here as google can't see IP on sites where link is left.

fredtirfry, you can set 50 accounts on each social bookmarking site and then randomly rotate them.

Likely it doesnt effect google directly - however - if the web 2.0 sites connect the dots - like having 20 tumblr profiles/accounts - they for sure ban and delete sites based upon IP and IP based access ...

So it will affect google if you are deriving a ton of links and then those get 86'd by the web 2.0 platform host [ parasite hoster].

Livejournal / tumblr / wordpress.com are on a TEAR shutting down sites for TOS left and right. If it werent easy and fast to setup stuff for those id ignore them al together for now... as they are going to find it soon enough and remove the sites.

time wasted - unless it gets done automatically and effortlessly
