I came across an autoblog that was composed of a wordpress site that grabbed content from other sites, posted it as it's own, and then put a link back to the original source. Weird thing is that the "content" that was swiped was actually the stuff I put in my description tag in All-In-On-SEO. Free links for me baby! |

| Wait a minute ... lets not jump the gun. If the OP has a Terms of Use prohibiting re-syndication of his content - then so be it - but if they have no TOS and still have the RSS feeds off their wp blog enabled ... why is it thieving? I suspect they dont dictate the terms of the use of their rss syndicated content. If they did have an issue with it then why leave rss working? They are also still attributing back to the source - with a link - a typical accepted practice in re syndication. |

I think that is one of the best benefits of article marketing. For example, WP Robot, an autoblogging wordpress plugin, gets articles from articlesbase dot com. I don't believe that it strips out links either in the content or the resource box. Of course, this brings up a good question: are those backlinks still valuable even if they are on a duplicate content page? |

My gut is that they are not worth much. Very little personal experience since I hardly use rss. I make the spammers work slightly harder if they want to scrape me.

Quality over Quantity... enough said. Eventually, some of these scraper sites will develop PR. They're not all bad, especially if there's little to no competition in your niche. |

Just a quick tip, you can limit the amount of info autoblogs can steal from you by switching your RSS feed to excerpt only or limiting the amount of content it displays.

WizardRSS | Full Text RSS Feeds There are others and yahoo pipes, when done right is masterful at grabbing your entire posts. Your partial rss feed is just giving it the link it needs to go scrape your entire page ... best thing to do is use feedburner and put your adsense ads in it. Fornicates it for the scrapers- unless they dont mind your adsense blocks all over their blogs. | |

They didn't pull the content from my RSS feed. They pulled it from the html description tag on the post itself. I write them custom and separate from the main body content.

| The rss feed gives the software the link it needs - back to the html page/wp page to scrape between the html codes for the content.
