Linking My Websites and Google - Do I need to worry?

Hi all,

I have built out 10 websites all dedicated to specific sub-niches of one of my niches. Site number 11 is going to be more general; it is my intention to give it link juice from my other 10 sites, in addition to my regular link-building efforts.

None-the-less, should I be concerned if they are all run through the same hosting company and have the same adsense \adwords account? I have had no issues thus far with the first 10, but I'm not linking them to each other either. At this scale, will it even matter, or just to be safe, should I throw site number 11 on a different hosting company, and get a second adwords account for analytics (I probably won't be running adsense on site 11).

Well first question are these all manual sites where your doing the content your self? if they're autoblogs or anything than get rid of adsense and analytics asap, cause google will slap you so hard your mum will feel it. And second, yes if your going to link your own sites, you must run each one on it;s own c-class ip,with their own dns records. It costs alot more, but it's worth it in the long run if your trying to build serious sites.

All manual, all unique, non-spun content. No linking between them, but these are basically going to be feeder sites to site 11, yet they all stand on their own in terms of content and monetization. It's all quite above board, I'm just paranoid about google.

that will be fine then, no need to change hosts if you're not going to interlink them.

What you are doing is very similar to internal linking and you should link wherever it makes sense. Nothing you described violates any of Google's guidelines, no need to worry.

I would definitely get a separate hosting company for site 11. Backling from the same server IP are worth less than from a different server IP address. Also make sure you add privacy to domain 11.

While that may in fact be true, I believe this could be a situation where the idiom "penny wise and pound foolish" applies. The investment in time and money to move the site to a different account on a different host would surely amount to far more cost and trouble than simply building a few good backlinks that will do far more to help your rankings. Just becaise you can do something, it doesn't mean you should. This is likely a case of the cost not justified by the benefit.

Google only cares if you try to artificially manipulate rankings. I interlink my sites all the time. Google encourages you to link to sites that make sense to your readers. Google is just software.

The only way to avoid any kind of potential trap in an artificial linking scheme would be to register all your domains in proxy (Google is a registrar), and host on different Class C IP blocks and not have identifying information tying one to the other. It's simply not worth the hassle for so few sites.

Get seperate hosting accounts and also ensure that privacy is on so Google cant pick up the owner information. I would personally avoid linking them as it could potentially flag up as a link farm. Why give yourself the hassle? I would just get some 1 way links into each of the sites so you can build them up as individual entities. If one gets penalised then at least you dont have to worry abotu them all getting b***ch slapped!
