Whats the best way to link up my domain to my hosting? does it even matter? I can use nameservers or forward it to a subdomain, whats the best practice for SEO considerations.

You should be using nameservers. If you have hostgator, just add a new "Addon domain" (in the Cpanel) and then switch the nameservers in your domain. |
