Default Need SEO consultation

I'm tired of trying to get my rank up and reading up on all these methods that supposedly work to get your page rank up and such including buying these so-called "spam backlinking" services. My site is in a very competitive market, and for some reason there are other lower quality wordpress blogs publishing less content than I do on a weekly basis who get 5x more traffic than I do. I know websiteoutlook isn't 100% accurate, but I do believe that some of the info they get is based on an estimate and get some of their info from Alexa. Anyway, I saw my site has 25,972 backlinks yet Ive been sitting at a Pagerank of 3 for the last year and a half now with no more than like 6,000-8,000 visitors per month. I have been running the site for 2 years now, and one of my competitors' cheap blog who publishes the same kind of content has only 7,972 backlinks... It's really frustrating with 4-5x more traffic.

I'm just really tired of trying and I'm spending so much time and I'm getting frustrated, I just want someone to consult with me on what I need to do for my site in order to increase and help my rankings/traffic. I need someone that has had much success and knows what they're doing. I will pay for the consultation, please PM and PM with your email address if you can help me out.

First off, you're right..you don't know the traffic of any other sites so I don't know if I'd make assumptions. Alexa.com is not accurate information. For example, anybody that has a Sitesell site has an inflated Alexa rank so there you go.

Second, the number of backlinks is utterly meaningless. Are you getting links from SPLOGS, article directories, and web 2.0 properties? Think about it from a SE's standpoint. Do you think Google sees all that much value in counting links from sites that allow you to essentially create your own links? I'm not saying there is no value, but to me they are just a nice value add....nothing more.

Personally, in addition to this....I look for real actual links. And get your internal linking fixed (assuming you have a problem, which most people do).

I wouldn't pay for a consultation....I would probably enroll in Dan Thies' SEO Braintrust program.

Just so you know the number of links means nothing. It is more about the quality of the links and the relevance of the links of the niche you are in. You should start building up your own network of sites and get them to start gaining authority and PR.

Google adds a considerable weight on the domain age of a website, although it is not the only thng that is necessary.

You should be building "spam links" or profile links towards web 2.0 properties that pass through their link juice. You should be alternating anchor text and making sure these profile links are not your only source of linking.

Start with your own network, buy up aged domains and build links heavily. Have your anchor text on these sites and do not monetise them in any way apart from having content on them. Make sure your On Page SEO is implemented, so your off page efforts are not being wasting.

Also why would you blast "spam links" at your website, google could easily deindex your site for unnatural behaviour. Only use these links on web 2.0 properties or sites you are building just t pass link juice.

Just like e-supreme said. Build some satellite sites or network sites. Try to have them all hosted with different host providers so they are different IPs. Also try to buy some older domains. I like using Domain Samurai for sniping some cheap older domains. Make sure the content and on page is good on those sites, and then begin your backlinking. The more white hat you can keep all your backlinking the better, but for your satellite sites you can get a little more grey with it.

Also, it is absolutely true that relevant high PR backlinks will win every time. I see this all the time when I do competition analysis. What I do to spy on my competitors is I use the Market Samurai PR, and Anchor Text analysis modules to see what all my competitors are doing. I then try to link to as many of the websites they are linking too.

Relevancy is huge though. I will see websites that have thousands of more backlinks to a particular page, yet the guy at the top has way less but is still out ranking. Upon analysis, the guy at the top almost always has more relevant backlinks.

Best of luck!

I agree with the others....i never go off the amount of backlinks to a site...9 times out of 10 they are junkie two way links or spam links....the best practice is to know your competition from the inside out....I always analyze my competitions backlinks a few tear levels deep to get a good understanding of what I need to do to out rank them.....

You can buy programs that help you analyze your competitions links or you can use yahoo site explorer to check them out...

site:competionsite.com

My approach has always been to get more powerful, relevant, high pr backlinks to my site because they will hold more weight on your SEO efforts..Google can tell whether or not your backlink portfolio is spammed or if your links are more natural looking and obtained in the proper ways.

"Spam backlinking" is not enough.

Two things that will help you 100%:

1. guest blogging and buying posts on high pr sites (related to your niche).
2. quality content on your site and social marketing

Llimesour:

I have to want you that you have an awful lot of terrible advice above. No offense to anybody, but don't do any of those things. Don't spam, don't build microsites, don't try to build networked links. Networking links is super hard: you get it wrong once and you'll be wasting much more than your time. Don't try to compete with the Google algorithm! Take my word for it, I have been an SEO professional for a decade.

I am not familiar with SEO Brain Trust, but I have watched their introductory video and I am sorry to say it sounds like a scam to me. There is not one specific reason they give you why you should buy it. There are no SEO secrets, all the info they can give you is available on the Net for free. You cant always trust that information, but then why would you trust Brain Trust? My judgment is based on on their SEO knowledge, but on the fact that they try to sucker you into buying without telling you why -- a sure sign of a scam or sucker business.

Consider this, too. You say your market is highly competitive. That means, and I assure you of this, that your top competitors all have kickass SEOs. They watch each other and they will watch you as you start moving up through the ranks. They start noticing something fishy, they will sort you out quickly, document everything and report you to Google even if you don't trigger any automatic filters by your own efforts.

Since you seem to be a total newbie at SEO, the only way you can hope succeed is by hiring a serious pro. This requires a budget. Without this, just don't do anything. No SEO at all is much better than cheap SEO. Don't get into trouble! Just wanted to give you the heads up.
