The Fastest Way To Get Your Google Rankings Fall Like A Ton of Brick .....

Started a new site about a month ago, been building profile links, social bookmark with 5 posts and then getting traffic slowly day by day.

At first it was about 100 visitors daily..... and reach 200 unique for the past 7 days....

Got sales (about $25) last month and also this month....

And i thought if i could put up a forum, since my niche is hot right now, i could have get
more traffic and rose up the search rankings....

And so i installed SMF about 2 weeks ago, put a couple of posts and let it run on autopilot.

then yesterday, to my horror, My site which uses to rank for 2 words phrase suddenly fall to nowhere.... i do a site:mydomain.com search and able to find my site but.....

80% of the indexed pages comes from my SMF forum.... which i forgotten about and
did not moderate..... these index pages show up page titles with viagrax, pills, etc... and when i go to my forum and did a check, there were more than 40 posts that links to all spam, viagra sites.... oh my God....

I think this is the main cause..... or anyone of you here have similar experiences??

Hard to say. Need to make sure you have manual approval for new members, and correctly set your guests so they cannot post.

Could also be(much more likely) that it is the Google dance. Your site is still very young.

I've never had any similar experiences but the thing that struck me about your post was that you were getting 200 uniques per day and only made $25 for the month. If you can get your rankings and traffic back you'll need to work on conversions.

If you have a forum you have to check it really frequently for spam. Seems like just about everybody has sophisticated spam bots these days. They don't even know what to do with them.

One type of spam I get is just links back to about the last 15 forum profiles that the same bot has probably set up. Doesn't even have any chance of making money. You can't buy anything from them. I guess some people are just bored, lonely, and have absolutely nothing better to do...

Forums are really a lot of work. Requiring a confirmed email addy cuts down on the spam quite a lot. It's simple to select that from admin.

SMF 2.0 coming out soon has an image verification that the bots can't beat as easily.

Simply erase the threads, and implement some anti-spam. (Are you using phpBB?)

Google seems to correct itself after a little while, so your site should show up again in a little bit.

I have already deleted the forum and i hope and pray that Google will put my site
back to first page again....

I just don't have the time to moderate the forum.... it sucks up too much time.....

my intention of setting up this site is to get traffic, get sales and flip it for
some extra cash....

that's because I'm targeting very broad keywords, just 2 words.... so that
explains for the high traffic...

but i do get amazon sales, cpa sales, adsense clicks, opt-in..... I'm
testing out all offers to see which is giving the best profit.

This is a hot new niche and i believe i'm in the early phase of the trend, given more
time, this could be a tycoon site.

Getting 200 visitors in such a short time is impressive. Just delete the forum for the moment or moderate it and I believe your ranking will be back to normal.

Hi there

Yeah ive had experiance of this, I did exactly the same, didnt have any moderation on one of my forums many moons ago, it was targetted by the viagra crowd, my site fell like a stone, and was even flagged and filtered from Bing to my horror lol !

Took me about 3 months to get back, you need to stop people registering with those kind of names and use the word filter to stop the words being mentioned, and stop this content getting onto your site.

Delete all the users that are on there currently, you need to do it for the lot, v1agra lot, and google the other medical pills, p0rn and other spam crap and block the lot of them !

Make sure if people leave a homepage url too, make sure the link gets no followed, same for signitures, or even disable them thats what i did.

Its a harsh lesson that taught me I needed to be responsible for the links that appear on my site, but once you learn it you wont make this mistake again belive me !

I was pretty annoyed at first that people did this, but if you leave a gap open for people to drop their link they will take it, so really it was my own fault in a way, your lucky you only had 40 posts, I had 100s yikes lol !

I am guessing he is including spider visits in his unique counts. Somedays I get 300+ uniques just from spiders on one of my sites. I have seen a lot of people think they are getting good traffic and truth is hardly any humans are seeing them at all

it happenses with new sites....if you keep building links you will get up in google.

i have a bouncing website too. some days i`m on teh 1st results and some days it`s not even on the search engine...

I think the error was most likely from your site being new, does it really take that long to moderate a forum?!

Like to report that my site is up on the 7th spot on 1st page of google... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my site will stay this way....

My friend search engine can figure out each and everything now a days. Though all such stuff was allowed previously but now it has become really difficult. I suggest you not to put any autopilot or any autobots for submission. The complete off page submission should be done through humans.

you can buy angela or paul links packet from warriors in this forums. Otherwise, you can also find High PR rank forums and just register as a user and do a backlink to your website.

I happy to report that my website is now averaging 400-500 uniques a day and i just got
a $1 click from adsense yesterday.

Last month, I got $30 profit from adsense and amazon. If i can get monthly
income of $60, I'm going to sell the website for $1,000 ....

Would anyone here invest $1000 to get a cashflow of $60 per month?

Having a forum without any proper moderation and special steps to fight spam is as good as not having it at all.

If major percentage of backlinks come from spam sites like forum in this case it is no point in ranting about it now.

BTW nice to know you are getting good traffic now and also earning good money :-).
