I have been nurturing relationships with owners of authority sites which are relevant to my site's content. I have approached these sites with the offer to write a guest article in return for links back. My question is this: When my article has been posted to the authority site would it be recommended to post it to a)my blog, b) Ezine c)anywhere else or will this simply dilute my effort through creation of duplicate content? |

I do this regularly for one of my writing clients. The sites that accept my guest posts only want unique content, so do check with them before republishing what's basically their content. You could rewrite the guest posts to make them unique: I use DupeFree Pro - Avoid Duplicate Content and Online Content Plagiarism and make the effort to have the rewrites also 100% unique. It's a bit more work but that way you keep your good relationship with the authority sites and still get the benefit of your research/writing for your own purposes. |

I don't have a ton of experience with guest blogging, but, Like Audrey said, it seems that everyone wants only a unique post for guest blogging. Here's a cool site where guest bloggers and people with blogs can get together for posting etc... (only unique posts accepted there too): Looking for guest bloggers or to guest post? I certainly wouldn't recommend re-publishing the same article. In fact some blogs accepting guest posts clearly state that once you submit the article you cannot re-publish it on other sites as it becomes duplicate content. What I suggest would be to bookmark the original article. This will give a lot of exposure to your article given that it's published but an authority website / blog. You could also write another (new) article on your own blog linking to your guest post article. |

Unique content all the way. Don't post it on your blog unless the online mag allows you too. Make sure your article on the online mag gets indexed first.

Typically when you write a guest post for another blog it should be 100% original and not posted anywhere else -- now or in the future.

That's right! In fact many blogs accepting guest posts clearly state in their guest posting policies that you cannot publish the same article on any other website. Cheers, Remi |
