If webmasters want to monetize their websites, the great way to do it is through Adsense. There are lots of webmasters struggling hard to earn some good money a day through their sites. But then some of the “geniuses” of them are enjoying hundreds of dollars a day from Adsense ads on their websites. What makes these webmasters different from the other kind is that they are different and they think out of the box.

The ones who have been there and done it have quite some useful tips to help those who would want to venture into this field. Some of these tips have boosted quite a lot of earnings in the past and is continuously doing so.

Here are some 5 proven ways on how best to improve your Adsense earnings.

1. Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This same format have the tendency to result in higher CTR, or the click-through rates. Why choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically because the ads will look like normal web links, and people, being used to clicking on them, click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense but as long as there are clicks, then it will all be for your advantage.

2. Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more clicks from people visiting your site.

3. Remove the Adsense from the bottom pages of your site and put them at the top. Do not try to hide your Adsense. Put them in the place where people can see them quickly. You will be amazed how the difference between Adsense locations can make when you see your earnings.

4. Maintain links to relevant websites. If you think some sites are better off than the others, put your ads there and try to maintaining and managing them. If there is already lots of Adsense put into that certain site, put yours on top of all of them. That way visitor will see your ads first upon browsing into that site.

5. Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code into your webpages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in a text file, save it as “adsense text”, and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators to generate pages on their website.

These are some of the tips that have worked well for some who want to generate hundreds and even thousands on their websites. It is important to know though that ads are displayed because it fits the interest of the people viewing them. So focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that persons will be viewing already.

Note also that there are many other Adsense sharing the same topic as you. It is best to think of making a good ad that will be somewhat different and unique than the ones already done. Every clickthrough that visitors make is a point for you so make every click count by making your Adsense something that people will definitely click on.

Tips given by those who have boosted their earnings are just guidelines they want to share with others. If they have somehow worked wonders to some, maybe it can work wonders for you too. Try them out into your ads and see the result it will bring.

I am struggling with my adsense ads giving off such a low price even though the average advertiser PPC is much higher (so I m only getting $.40 a click while the average advertiser is bidding over $8).

I have been told that this may be because the visitor is visiting several of my pages after he visits my site before clicking on an ad. The goal being I should try to set up my page to have a visitor come to the one page from the search engines and then immediately click on an adsense ad as opposed to visiting other pages in your site. So, I have changed the structure a bit on some articles pages to take off other site links, etc. We shall see if this improves the rate I get per click.

step 5 could also be a php include. to be honest i dont know the last time i didnt use a php extension. it just makes stuff easier.

3. make blogs
4. get articles (free or PLR)
5. blogwalking and leave comment
6. get more backlinks (make dummy is best one)
7. repeat step 1 to 6 for 5 account (blogger)

get min $20/days from 30 blogs (will grow up daily)

I can't see getting paid pennies when dollars are available through so many other alternatives

If you want to think out of the box, start testing with these alternatives

The great thing about them is they don't have the same rules that Google forces upon you.

A few years ago adding pictures and images pointing to ads etc... increased the click through rate through the roof, great money was made those years

now Google will suspend your accounts if you confuse the person clicking on any adsense ad using these methods

well the other advertisers don't have such strict rules

It doesn't take to many clicks to exceed your revenue from adsense

I have been playing with adsense for about 12 months now. (off and on to be honest and no game plan) However, I have really given it my all for the last 2 weeks and played around with adsense boxes and texts and colors, etc.
I have found that adsense for me works best when it is at the top of my pages and posts and that the background color is exactly the same as the site background so it mingles in. The only thing I put in bold, black text is the link title. The ad body and link address I put in gray, when on a white background.

The key for me is blending the ads as much as possible into my site and my adsense earnings have gone from less than a $1 a day to (as of today) $11 today. I guess I must be doing something right!

good points, but every site is different and one must experiment to see what works the best. I have a few sites where the bottom converts higher then the top.

Color is key was well, my adsense ads are not all the same color. I have a rough idea of what works but i still tweak it in

Bottom line every site has its own set of factors that need to be figured out if you want max profit out of it. Adsense is not a one size fits all

I have to agree, not every method is going to work for everyone. The trick is to try different things until you find the one that works best.

smart pricing is easily avoided with good relevant content. Most accounts are not smart priced but instead advertisers block their ads from your site do to poor conversions. If you right good content and your sites do not look spammy most advertisers will not do this.

In this case, I'm talking about a website and not a blog, but I have seen in both places.

You know how you can have an image, align it left and hspace/vspace it so text flows around the image? I have seen this done with Adsense block ads. But I can't seem to use the same commands with these ads like I do with images. So I'm wondering how it is done.

Barbara, Put the adsense code within a <div> and then use the stylesheet to control the alignment, spacing, width etc of that div.

The tips above are good but only go so far.
Some niches will have a higher ctr than others because
that is just how it goes.

For the highest ctr I suggest reviewing products because those
are buyer keywords.

The best way to increase adsense earnings is to use an adsense tracker,
track which articles are getting high ctr and create more of them.

I don't believe Joel Comm went from $30 a day to $500 so fast the way
he says.

I think adsense is primarily about scalability, either make 100 niche websites
that earn $5 a day each or create 5 websites that have 1000 articles on each website.
Just choose your game plan and put your blinders on.

For stable rankings after 2 years from my experience make sure to silo your website.
If you don't know what this is Google it. I think if you silo your website and it is
at least 2 years old your rankings will stabilize without having to add more content
or get more links. It is alway helpful to do both though.

My thinking is more long-term now what if you create 5 sites and add lots of good content
and build links up slowly after 5 years you probably don't have to work anymore.

I got distracted with IM products otherwise I'd be making 10k a month by now with adsense
after 4 years online. I just keep adding content to my existing sites now, more content
Equals more money.... easy peezy.

I have been using adsense for about a year now and have only received one check in that time. I basically run a hypnosis blog, which if I do say is one of the best, but I can never really get clicks. I get about 100 hits a day? Any advice as I use the ad block mentioned and insert it into my post. I make all the adsense look like links and still nothing.

Not experimentation, but testing is the key.
Testing imho means experimenting in an organized way with tracking results and starting new tests to improve on the previous results.

Hi Barbara,

This may help you;

<p style="margin-right: 10px; float: left;"> AD CODE HERE </p>

This will float your ad to the left, wrapping content on the right, with a 10px margin. You can change the float: left; to float: right; to float it on the opposite side, however I've seen better CTR from placing ads on the left.

Hi Barbara- I am no techie but the way I have handled this is I create a two column table and then remove any border frm the table. I put the adsense code in one of the table columns and part of the text content in the other. Then I add the rest of the article below the table. . . so, visually it looks like the text is wrapping around the adsense rectangle. PM if this does not make sense and you want to see a sample.
