Articlebase is really very good article directory. It's no follow but a good article can expect to get target traffic from there.

Don't know if this is the right place to ask this but here it goes: I submitted to ezine and wrote in squidoo, are their backlinks dofollow? I haven't been able to see them in yahoo site explorer so just curious as to whether they have any beepin use at all.

I couldn't open the website you provided. I found some article directories which are auto approved suppose: ultimatearticledirectory.com, amazines.com which has a good pr, goarticles is also a good reputation website.
