I have a question and hopefully some of you can answer it. I have found a few foreign forum sites that I can stick my link in. Will it have the same effect as an English forum site? Can it help me rank my english site? Thanks |

I have a couple of sites in my native language with backlinks from US/UK sites using native keywords as the one in my sig. Ranking well with that so I guess it proves it works.

thanks, so it doesn't really matter if the sites are in a foreign language as long as the anchored text is the kw you are trying to rank for right? Am i correct? |

| IMHO, you should get links from as many different foreign language sites as possible. From a logic perspective, what site do you think should appear as more of an authority: a site with links only from US/UK/Canada/AU sites, or a site with links froma ll over the world? Also, it has been my experience that foreign language sites tend to have much more unique IP addresses, so you'll get more IP diversity by including them. Tom |

Thanks for all the response... Guess collecting foreign sites as backlinks isn't useless after all... |

I even add articles in english in foreign article directories as Goarticles etc with norwegian keywords, accepted and helps ranking. In my opinion use any foreign known backlink techniques including your native keyword. Its odd but it works. Probably not many in your home country knows about it so use it along with backlinks from your homecountry to get an edge over many of your competitors. yes, I don't know if it has the same effect , but many news sites do it (in a natural way), I ranked some sites with backlinks from different languages.
