Do you go after the misspelled words?

Just curious to see if you guys go for the common misspelled versions of some keywords. I saw a domain that had exercise spelled excercise which is very commonly done. I checked the search volume on it and it was pretty decent.

I always stick with correctly spelled keywords, but I'm assuming this guy is getting some traffic because of targeting this.

Targeting misspellings used to make a lot more sense in the old days, and I think we all remember how porn sites used to come up high in the search results when you misspelled something because they targeted every imaginable misspelling. Today I would say it's a waste of time because even when you misspell something in Google, it asks you, "Did you mean [the correct spelling]?" and offers you the top 2 results for the correctly spelled query above all the results for the misspelling.

I don´t use them. Not only because of the "Did you mean..." but also because they are misspellings. This people made a mistake, but if I´m optimizing a page and make that mistake over and over again, it looks as if I´m an idiot.

I don't even know if its worth it, they don't get much searches at all..

Philip put it perfectly. And even if you can find the rare ones that G hasn't 'fixed' yet, it won't last long.
