Back Link with Portfolio

Hi guys,

I have just joined the forum. I have a query and I would like to share it here. I am not very happy with the way Google ranks a website based on backlinks. I am involved in a small scale business online. I have a portfolio on my website. I have an example powered by link to my site and the portfolio links to them. Now Google will not perceive them as backlinks since I link to them. I want a high ranking for my site and I want to retain the portfolio on my site. Help!

Actually, reciprocal linking still works fine sometimes, in spite of what people say about it being devalued. It depends on how it is done.

But you will not get high or reliable rankings from a single link if your market is at all competitive. SEO is not easy to pull off, but you can engage a top-notch SEO professional who will get you ranked fast. It requires a certain budget though, so, unfortunately, it is increasingly the case that only websites that make money can afford SEO. But if you have a sound business model (i.e. a product or service that sells for the right price), then high quality SEO is always profitable.
