Novice seo tips

im new to seo , if anybody out their has any tips or advice on how to get started with seo marketing , and generating website traffic i would really appreciate your advice.

What are you planning to do with SEO? It would help if you told us that as you would SEO differently for different keywords and different websites like a forum, blog, sales page, and etc.

That's a really big subject. People spend years truly mastering it. I would suggest you look around the forum and do some reading. Then after you get some basic knowledge under your belt your questions will probably be a little more focused.

Reading around the forums here will give you all the SEO advice and beginning stuff you will need to know, head over to the SEO forum section and ask some relevant questions there if you are still stuck.

Well, basically, it's basically based on the basics of SEO which is basically Keywords Content and Backlinks. That's basically it, basically.

Its Broken down to several aspects like, keyword research, Onpage seo, backlink generation, offpage seo. the most 1st thing you should develop and the most important is keyword research. search the forum, theres some good threads on it.

Read through this forum. Also, search google for things like: keyword research guide, on page seo guide, off page seo guide etc.

Definitely a big subject. I'd advise doing some reading before doing too much link building, for example. It's easy to make mistakes or go off in the wrong direction if you haven't studied.
I always break the subject of traffic into two parts - content and promotion. They are both important. You've got to have something worthy of people's time first - then it's a case of making people aware of the content in an effective way. Good content can promote itself, but usually you have to give it a good push to get it airborne first.
