quick question guys i have a domain i bought a while ago its ringtonestore.ca the question is if i develop a ringtone store and make it a proper website, when people search "ring tone store" or "ringtonestore" will my website at least be on the first page of search engines just because my domain name?

A simple search will give you the answer. Search for ring tone store now, and you'll find that none of the page 1 results are for domains with ringtonestore in them. Having a keyword rich domain is just one small factor in where your site ranks.

From my experience, if the extension is .COM, .NET, or .ORG and the competing web pages are less than 1 million, you can easily rank for the exact term of 2-3 word phrase. Although for certain competitive niche, it probably will take you only to the 2nd page of Google. But it's powerful. |

you should stand a chance in doing so. But ultimately, it's the content in your webpage that matters. If your content really matches what your audiences want, google would automatically ranks you highly in the search engine. It's matter of time and speed.

The domain name helps. You also need some backlinks and keyword optimized content.

you got to look at several research tools like google insight, google keywords tool, etc - Google Insights for Search If you got to the insight links above, the trend seems getting lesser and lesser. But you must still compare it with other indicators. |
