Has anyone seen an eye tracking study with Google's new left hand navigation included? I'm curious if it's in any way changed how users view the page.

I've not seen any studies, but can tell you that I personally use the date filter more than I used to (which I've always used to some extent BTW).

Michael, I can't quite tell but it looks like the first two are not Google. The last one shows Google's SERP before the addition of the left navigation. Is that correct? |

The F-style heatmap is pre-search tool sidebars. I'd be interested to know as well if that pattern is the same now.
