Is Youtube set as a follow or no follow for backlinks?

no, not the meta tags

a nofollow link has nofollow attached directly to the <a> link

Even if they are no follow.

They are still counted and the viewers still see the link.

Yes, I have read that having no follow links are almost better than regular following links. I believe I read that from the author of SEO for Dummies

No they don't count, as backlinks for trying to boost your PR.

They are still great for real people to follow to your site, if the video has high views the better.

I am afraid youtube is nofollow now like most big sites but you can still get some pretty decent traffic from YT with quality videos.

Keyword rich titles is the way to go. There doesn't seem to be any other way.. unless you wear a little black hat

Good news folks

There is one place on Youtube where YOU can place a backlink that's a Do-Follow.

It's actually on your Youtube channel where it asks for your website url in the description box.

If you don't believe me just download SEO for Firefox and enable the "Highlight the no-follow links" and you'll see it in all it's glory

Yes James , you need to create your youtube channel and there put your url, it's dofollow, and upload videos from this channel, with you keywords as tags , then people visit your channel. It's easy
