Default How to out rank an eHow page?

Has anyone had the experience of a outranking an eHow page for a particular keyword? I notice that they are an old site - 1998. But the page that I'm trying to beat is one that has like 67 backlinks but all of these links are internal.

Can I topple this 136 Alexa rank behemoth?

My keyword has approximately 7,500 phrase searches per month and around 9,500 competition.

A great place to start with any website or article is social bookmarking. I would also create squidoo lens and blogger pages to backlink aswell.

Study the page you are about to compete with and you will see some weak point to capitalize on.

Hmm how deep are your pockets. This is a well established site and will take some beating.

First what is the keyword? Then we can see if it is doable.

I agree just triple there backlinks and you should do it because they have like a 6 or 7 pagerank they are a bohemoth. And if you cant beat them join them lol.

eHow and Demand Media are aggravating. They generate over a million new articles a month (according to Wired) and commission people to write short, sub par articles on whatever topic has keywords that they can breach. From a business perspective, I suppose this is a great idea and they're making a killing. But (IMO) they're also polluting the internet with garbage that gets into the special 4 and makes it harder for everyone else to compete.

I would suggest the same thing that others have (lots of backlinks), though I can't beat Demand/eHow for my keywords either. They're like a for-profit, crappy content wikipedia with deep pockets.

Working harder...
