Site load time and autoplay video

As we know google has stated that it may favor sites that load faster.

Say you have a video on your sales page, do you think having it on auto-play will slow the page load time? Or does it start playing after the page has 'loaded'.

Not sure if Google would count it against your load time or not but from a visitor usability viewpoint I would not do it unless you have some strong research that it works well in your niche.
