Why IM is great- Something nice to share with you all!

Last night I opened my clickbank account which i had not touched in about 3 months and I discovered I had made 60 bucks (one sale) off a website which i had given up on completely as a project..I have to say I am pretty ecstatic.

My first IM experiment was with a html web template I got free with an ebook I purchased, it was very basic and quite crappy looking. Unfortunately my html is very limited so there was not much I could do, but for a while I thought it was great (first website I had ever made!).

I thought of a product i could write something about, did some keyword research and found something with over 3000/monthly searches ( i never knew of exact searches! Turned out to be around 1000) I liked with low comp on the first page (i didn't take into account broad, allintitle or exact searches either because I didn't know about them). I went to namecheap and found an exact match .org domain and then found a product which matched the criteria on clickbank.

I used bookmarking, maybe one or two ezines and some profile links which i copied off a similar affiliate website on the front page using yahoo explorer. Within a few weeks I was floating around no. 10 spot on google and I think i even made it to 7th, but then I discovered wordpress and came across some other ideas and I just lost track of it.

Maybe it was the fact that "I thought" the page couldn't convert or that I had screwed the keyword research up and I was never going to make any money from it (I was told over 3000 exact), but i forgot about it..until last night!

I checked it's position and it is ranked number 11, so with some more linking I should easily be able to push it back up to the front page.

Internet marketing truly is full of surprises! I am definitely here to stay!

Congrats! There are so many good surprises in IM. Work you did weeks or months ago may come back around and reward you. Hope there's more success in store for you!
