Ok. So I've read a lot of people say that they use adwords solely for building their list. How on earth is that possible when one of their rules is this: Further, advertisers are prohibited from promoting certain types of sites, which include, but are not limited to: * Data collection sites that imply delivery of free items, etc., in order to collect private information How do people successfully use adwords to build their list? Do you use a squeezepage?(probably not) Do you use a content site and have your optin thing on the sidebar or something? Any suggestions from those who have done it successfully? Courses that teaches this? etc Does the no data collection rule apply to yahoo and msn paid advertising as well? |

Hey bb4h, Well I'm not sure about how things are with Google and squeeze pages right now, but to my understanding there was a way to make it okay to have them. I've used Adwords to send traffic to a blog I own to build my list like that. There was an optin form in the sidebar. I've also used Yahoo to send traffic to a squeeze page - they're usually a little cooler with things like that. The trick with the blog is to have a few posts, and hopefully have those pages indexed in Google, with a few links pointing to them. |

I think it's better to get your first subscribers without spending money on PPC. You can build you list with a blog, a free report/ebook and with article marketing. Also consider to use another network than Google. When I used to start with a completly different network than Google, my profits exploded (PPC and Clickbank). Best regards, William |

| I'd guess the 'imply' part is meant to prohibit those "Free iPod" type ads where you have to jump through hoops to get the 'prize' or those infamous "free ringtones" ads from a couple of years ago. The 'etc.' part means that if Google doesn't like what you had for breakfast this morning they can ban you for life. |
