Default Stumbled across a 10% page CTR Adsense site (my own)

(I posted this in the main forum in error - sysop, please remove as you see fit, apologies)

Hi there everyone,

I have been making sites and putting Adsense on them for years. I could never get more than 0.5% page CTR. I gave up hope to be honest.

As an experiment, I bought some cheap traffic and sent small amounts to about 6 of my Adsense sites.

The sites themselves are totally unique, built by myself and are not static - they all have some sort of underlying purpose such as a decent database to search etc.

To my surprise, one of them started making money.

What was even better about this was the fact that the traffic was poor - and it still converted.

At first I though that cheap traffic meant "dodgy click bot style traffic". But seeing as the other five sites didn't convert, this told me that humans were sniffing around then clicking ads.

And even better still, these visitors would travel around the site and end up at pages of content that interested them, meaning that the adverts were highly tuned to them.

Statistic wise, the homepage (where all the traffic landed) got about a 70% bounce rate. Pretty rubbish really.

But excitingly, the front page CTR for Adsense was 2-4% - still not amazing. Most exciting of all was that subsequent page CTR went up to around 50% - and the reason was clear: people clicked on links to other pages based on their interests - then later on clicked on an advert as Google did its job of matching page content/visitors interests to the ads.

The front page bounce of 70% was probably due to the crap traffic. Oh, and by the way, Google turned me off. Most likely down to the high percentage of crap traffic.

So my appeal is this.

I know that good T1 traffic to this site would turn into very good revenue indeed. And Google will like the traffic.

They like the site as it was receiving natural traffic (only maybe 10 visits a day) for years.

The crap traffic I sent in was up to a few thousand visits per day - and the revenue whilst it lasted was damn amazing.

I have all my Analytics going back years if anyone's interested in partnering.

I, of course, don't have an Adsense account anymore. However, I am hoping there's someone out there who will see the potential of what I am saying. I just need good quality T1 traffic - only a few thousand hits per day would make a fantastic return.

Or even some ideas or advice would be great!

Chris

Nothing to say just yet... :)
