Default Way to Find More Inbound Links? / What Happened to Trackbacks?

Up until recently, every bloody place where anyone would link from a blog to one of my WordPress sites would show up as a trackback. This was very welcome as I like to then go build a few backlinks to the sites linking to me.

It seems that around the time of the WP 3.0 update, this stopped almost completely. I used to get dozens of trackbacks every day and now it's only a couple a week.

Any idea why this is?

Also, is the a better way to find blogs linking to my sites, other than querying Google, Yahoo and Google Blog search (all of which only find a tiny fraction of the pages featuring inbound links)?

Thanks.

Wouldn't this fall into the category of massive reciprocal linking? Isn't that something google has repeatedly mentioned as a way to get penalized?

PHP Link Directory Script - a great addition to ANY website and much more than just a directory.
You should contact me because I create software products. Example include phpLD, Link Cleaner, Dance Studio Manager, and many more for customers. Let me know if you need a strong development team to help you make a software product.

The trackbacks themselves? Yes, but only if you publish them.

To me, the value in getting the trackbacks was knowing where links were coming from.
