Default Goggle search results confusing, help please.

Hello Everyone,
I have a situation with google search results I don't understand and I'm hoping you folks here can help me out.
I've been publishing a "fan site" about a musician for 5 to 6 weeks. Been slowing moving up in page ranking, etc., here's the situation and question.
About 12:30 pm Saturday, I entered this person's name into google search (no quotations marks or such), results, for my page, showed page 1, 3rd from top (yes, I was very happy).
3 hours later my daughter in law googled for me again, different computer-different physical location [this is my first site and yea, I wanted to brag a little ]. Results page 2, bottom.
At 10 pm I get home and google again, 1st page, 3rd from top.
I immediately call my daughter, get her to google for me, results, 2nd page, bottom.
Right away I email a friend, 20 miles away, and within 15 minutes return email states he googled the name and results were 3rd page, 2nd from top.
So I google again and this time my results are the same as my friends, page 3, 2nd from top.
Everyone entered the name the same.
I assume that the 'google dance' would not happen this quickly.

Your insight would be appreciated !

Thank you.
Steve

Are you logged into google when you search?
If so, you may be getting personalized results.

Sometimes this can happen even if you are not logged into google, and don't even click on the results. They get skewed anyway, from what I've seen. I get different results when I do my weekly checks for my site, on my computer and my mother's. My mother's is never used by me, ever, nor do they ever key in the searches that turn up my site. I'm on my site on my computer all the time, get this, my site turns up higher on my mother's computer.
