Hey Warriors, I need some advice or feedback. I created a wordpress blog on a .info domain to test the market, the market is only small but it proved to be profitable. Nothing huge but still profitable. I got the site on 1st page of G and then started creating web2.o properties to help promote the site and backlinks and to get multiple rankings which worked well. My site went though the usually Google dance that often happens, I started the blog on 1st March 2010, however now I can't even find the site in the first 9-10 pages. I have set the site up just like many of my other sites which all get great rankings however they are on .com or .org domains Is my site not ranking because it is a .info domain? (I have spoken to others about this and some said they have .info sites that do rank on 1st page of G, so i am a bit confused) or, is this just more of Google's dance that some refer to? It is a review site and i recently heard a rumor that Google was cracking down on review sites, could this have anything to do with it? (as you can see i am clutching for answers) Any help/feedback/advice is greatly appreciated. Thank You |

Hello, First, you're right, .info domains don't do great as .com/net/org, however, it's not impossible for a .info to rank well. The only problem I can think about here is your "Link Building Acceleration" One of the factors G. considers in ranking is the Link Count Acceleration... Here's what it means simply: -Your site starts to get links, first week it gets 50 2nd week ---> 70 3rd week ----> 100 and so on This means a positive acceleration.. Believe or not, Google considers this a good sign on the other hand, if your site takes the opposite path 1st week---> 100 links 2nd week --> 70 links 3rd week ---> 50 links this will be considered a negative acceleration (if there's something like this in physics), and it's not a good sign A worse scenario is that, you build links for 3,4 or 6 weeks then stop completely This is just a red flag for G. Start to build links again slowly in a pace you can follow and you should return back to the 1st page |

I think .info is doesn't matter for keyword ranking. Actually this is happen because of link building on starting stage every keyword get volatile. I suggest you to wait for some time when you see your keyword is stable than after start your work.
